North American P-51D-20-NA Mustang "Jumpin Jacques" 44-72035
Built at North American's Inglewood facility in Califoia. Accepted by the USAAF on December 21 1944 as 44-72035 she was originally earmarked for service with the Eighth Air Force in England but this was quickly changed to Project Number 91037R, indicating service in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations.
44-72035 was assigned to the 332nd fighter group. The 332nd became very famous as the first all Afro American manned Group known as "The Tuskegee Airmen" although references to them at the time refer to them as "The Red Tails". She entered combat with the 15th Air force around March 1945 serving out the last few months of the war on escort and ground attack sweeps over Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. She still carries the battle scars to this day, with bullet repairs in several places on the fuselage.
As an original "Tuskegee" fighter, she is a rare thoroughbred and much welcomed on the UK and European Air show scene and now proudly forms part of the Hangar 11 collection.

Oscar nominee Lee J. Cobb plays Mustang designer "Dietz" in this detailed pilot training film. Often called the best all around piston engine fighter of World War 2, Chuck Yeager became an Ace in the '51. The Mustang's very high speed and all 'round qualities as a fighter coupled with extreme range for use as a bomber escort and interdicting fighter bomber were crucial factors when the 8th Air Force turned the tide of the Air War over Europe.

P-51 Mustang - America's Most Famous War Bird : Documentary Film
The North American Aeronautics P-51 Mustang was an American long-range, single-seat fighter as well as fighter-bomber seconded hand throughout Globe War II, the Korean Battle and also various other conflicts. The Horse was developed, made and built by N. American Air travel (NAA) in response to a requirements issued straight to NAA by the British Investing in Payment. The model NA-73X airframe was rolled out on 9 September 1940, 102 days after the agreement was authorized and also, with an engine set up, initially flew on 26 October.
The Horse was originally created to utilize the Allison V-1710 engine, which had actually limited high-altitude efficiency. It was first flown operationally by the Royal Air Pressure (RAF) as a tactical-reconnaissance aircraft as well as fighter-bomber (Horse Mk I). Thom Richard and Precious Metal going up for the teams qual run to set their place on the poll. Thom ended up with the 6th fasted speed of 440.385mph, not bad for having to put the semi stock engine in just before Reno due to a problem with the race engine.

Precious Metal P-51D (XR) Mustang 2013 qualifying run
Thom Richard and Precious Metal going up for the teams qual run to set their place on the poll. Thom ended up with the 6th fasted speed of 440.385mph, not bad for having to put the semi stock engine in just before Reno due to a problem with the race engine.

North American P-51D-20-NA Mustang "Jumpin Jacques" 44-72035
Built at North American's Inglewood facility in Califoia. Accepted by the USAAF on December 21 1944 as 44-72035 she was originally earmarked for service with the Eighth Air Force in England but this was quickly changed to Project Number 91037R, indicating service in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations.
44-72035 was assigned to the 332nd fighter group. The 332nd became very famous as the first all Afro American manned Group known as "The Tuskegee Airmen" although references to them at the time refer to them as "The Red Tails". She entered combat with the 15th Air force around March 1945 serving out the last few months of the war on escort and ground attack sweeps over Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. She still carries the battle scars to this day, with bullet repairs in several places on the fuselage.
As an original "Tuskegee" fighter, she is a rare thoroughbred and much welcomed on the UK and European Air show scene and now proudly forms part of the Hangar 11 collection.

The North American Aeronautics P-51 Mustang was an American long-range, single-seat fighter as well as fighter-bomber seconded hand throughout Globe War II, the Korean Battle and also various other conflicts. The Horse was developed, made and built by N. American Air travel (NAA) in response to a requirements issued straight to NAA by the British Investing in Payment. The model NA-73X airframe was rolled out on 9 September 1940, 102 days after the agreement was authorized and also, with an engine set up, initially flew on 26 October.
The Horse was originally created to utilize the Allison V-1710 engine, which had actually limited high-altitude efficiency. It was first flown operationally by the Royal Air Pressure (RAF) as a tactical-reconnaissance aircraft as well as fighter-bomber (Horse Mk I). The addition of the Rolls-Royce Merlin to the P-51B/ C model transformed the Horse's performance at elevations over 15,000 feet, matching or bettering that of the Luftwaffe's boxers.
