Preeti Ganguly (May 17, 1953 – December 2, 2012[1]) was an Indian actress who played several comic roles in Bollywood in the 1970s and 1980s. She was the daughter of veteran Indian actor Ashok Kumar, and part of the Ganguly family.[2][3] She is best known for her comic role as Freni Sethna, the die-hard Amitabh Bachchan fan in Basu Chatterjee's Khatta Meetha (1978).[4]
After she lost some 50 kg, her film roles dwindled and later in 1993, she started an acting school named after her father, 'Ashok Kumar's Academy of Dramatic Arts' in Mumbai, where he also took film appreciation classes. Years later, she appeared in Emraan Hashmi starrer, Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005).
Actor Deven Verma is married to her elder sister Rupa Ganguly.[6] Her brother, Aroop Kumar, appeared in only one film, Bezuban, released in 1962. Kishore Kumar, and actor Anoop Kumar are her uncles and her aunt is Sati Devi, married to Sashadhar Mukherjee (brother of Subodh Mukherjee) of the Mukherjee-Samarth family.
Preeti died of a cardiac arrest in Mumbai on December 2, 2012.

Deven Varma (23 October 1937 – 2 December 2014) was an Indian film and television actor, particularly known for his comic roles, with directors like Basu Chatterji, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gulzar.[2] He has also produced and directed some films including Besharam. He has won Filmfare Best Comedian Award for Chori Mera Kaam, Chor Ke Ghar Chor and Angoor, the last being directed by Gulzar and still considered one of Bollywood's best comedies.

Shakti Kapoor
Sunil Sikanderlal Kapoor (born 4 July 1958) is an Indian Bollywood actor. He is known for playing villains in Bollywood movies for more than three decades. He has also been applauded for playing comic roles in several movies. Through the eighties and nineties, Kapoor teamed up with actor Kader Khan as the comical or evil duo in over 100 films.
Early life
Shakti Kapoor was born in Delhi, India to a Punjabi family. His father ran a tailor shop in Connaught Place, New Delhi. When Mahesh Sanghavi offered him the role of a villain in the movie Rocky, he thought the name 'Sunil Kapoor' was too weak for a villain, so he renamed him as 'Shakti Kapoor'.
Career
As a struggler in Bollywood, initially Shakti Kapoor did so many small inconsequential roles in movies, all the while looking out for a suitable role as a leading man. The years 1980–81 established Shakti Kapoor as an actor in Bollywood with two of his movies Qurbani and Rocky. In 1983, Kapoor had roles in Himmatwala and the Subhash Ghai directed movie Hero. Kapoor had played villain roles in both these movies. In the nineties, he often diversified to positive comic roles and performed them with equal finesse. He has been nominated for the Filmfare Award in the Best Comedian category and won once, for his performance as Nandu in David Dhawan's film, Raja Babu. Some of his comic roles have been as Inspector Bhinde in Insaaf, Prasad in Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, Crime Master Gogo in Andaz Apna Apna, Tohfa, as Batuknath in ChaalBaaz and as Goonga in Bol Radha Bol.

After she lost some 50 kg, her film roles dwindled and later in 1993, she started an acting school named after her father, 'Ashok Kumar's Academy of Dramatic Arts' in Mumbai, where he also took film appreciation classes. Years later, she appeared in Emraan Hashmi starrer, Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005).
Actor Deven Verma is married to her elder sister Rupa Ganguly.[6] Her brother, Aroop Kumar, appeared in only one film, Bezuban, released in 1962. KOLKATA. Veteran actor Sumita Sanyal passed away at the age of 71 at her Lake Gardens home on Sunday. According to family sources, Sanyal, who was ailing for sometime now, suffered a cardiac arrest around 10.30am and did not survive it. She was married to film editor Subodh Roy and is survived by a son. In her first film, she had Uttam Kumar as her hero ... Who can forget her performance in Mukherjee's `Guddi' along with Jaya Bhaduri? ... HSBC....
