Becker Minty will host an exhibition of Mark Shaw photographs.

Audrey Hepburn getting her hair cut, or Jackie Kennedy lounging back in her private study: these are names we know, but it’s the off-the-cuff and unguarded portrayal of them in lensman Mark Shaw’s photographs that resonate.

And on August 4, landmark Sydney lifestyle and fashion store Becker Minty will open In The Moment, an exhibition of photographs from Shaw's oeuvre. A fashion photographer who had worked with the likes of Dior and esteemed art director Alexey Brodovitch at Harper’s Bazaar, Shaw also gained private access to Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy. The now famed photographs were printed in Life magazine and was the start of a long friendship with the Kennedy family and some of most recognisable personal portraiture.

A selection of limited edition prints will be available to be purchased from $1,450.

Jason Minty of Becker Minty says: "Although most of Mark’s images are directed specifically for magazine shoots, there are many that are a little more ‘in the moment, often giving us a slightly more behind the scenes or more natural look into the chosen celebrity.  These are the images that I favour most - Coco sorting through buttons with a cigarette hanging from her mouth, being a personal favourite."

The exhibition runs from August 4 - September 30 at Becker Minty,  7/81 MacLeay St, Potts Point. 10:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday – Sunday from 10:00am – 5:00pm.
