This video highlights Center City's largest SEPTA station. I mapped out the most important info about the station. Then, I set out and took a bunch of footage of the station and its surrounding city streets. It really came together nicely during the editing process. I think the music really adds a nice touch!
Considering the Silverliner Vs won't be back until mid-fall the earliest, get used to this sight for the time being. SEPTA is reaching out to MARC for additional single level cars and to MBTA (Boston) to see if they have any equipment to lend, so stay tuned for updates. Enjoy =)

Amtrak, MARC, and SEPTA at Suburban Station
We've moved to Suburban Station, where we see a SEPTA train that has turned at the stub end track in the station. This train consists of Amtrak ACS-64 610 with 7 MARC II coaches and SEPTA cab car 2410 bringing up the markers. After the train departs, we also get a quick look at the bay window caboose that sits at the end of the track. Enjoy the sight of the different companies seen on one train. We've moved to Suburban Station, where we see a SEPTA train that has turned at the stub end track in the station. This train consists of Amtrak ACS-64 610 with 7 MARC II coaches and SEPTA cab car 2410 bringing up the markers. After the train departs, we also get a quick look at the bay window caboose that sits at the end of the track. Enjoy the sight of the different companies seen on one train. Going for a Ride Part 10-Leased Septa Trains!
Well on Wednesday 8/17/16 I finally was able to film the leased septa trains in an around Philly. My dad came along with me since I had to get off at Suburban station to take care of something in the city. Prior to getting on the train I filmed some action at Paoli Station. My train was running late along with Amtrak. Keystone 646 arrived with cab car 9646 leading and ACS64 628 at the rear. I soon filmed the train as it departed for its next stop at Ardmore Station. Next I filmed a meet between Sept trains 1521 and 1528 "my train". Skipping ahead to Wynnewood Station my train meets Septa train 3527. On April 13, 2011 I headed out to 30th street station to film the evening rush hour of septa trains. There were many trains and dozens of railcars. Here is a list with all the railcars that were run on this day. We start out with the Airport train coming into willow grove and departing 30th street with railcars 288 446 445. We then get movement of the later to be West Trenton Train With Railcars 2461 2590 2591 2592 2595 2460 with ALP 44 engine 2308. Riding Silverliner 4 #297-Suburban to Thorndale
Well its been sometime since my whole family went to philly together and it was great. We got alot of things done and had a great time. As always I bring my camera to film the great train action. I decided to film the ride on Silverliner 4 #297 from Suburban Station all the way to Thorndale Station. Its rare that I go past 30th street so I though it was a good place to start filming. As we depart Suburban and head out across the stone bridge you get to see some of the complex track working leading to 30th street station. Farewell, Faithful Silverliners
On May 6th, my weekend of train excursions took a more somber turn as I waited with fellow railfans in Suburban Station to board a special run organized by SEPTA and the Philadelphia Chapter NRHS. We were gathered to pay our respects to SEPTA's classic Silverliner II and III MUs, delivered to the Pennsylvania and the Reading in the 1960s as part of the effort to improve Philadelphia commuter rail services. Well on Wednesday 8/17/16 I finally was able to film the leased septa trains in an around Philly. My dad came along with me since I had to get off at Suburban station to take care of something in the city. Prior to getting on the train I filmed some action at Paoli Station. My train was running late along with Amtrak. Keystone 646 arrived with cab car 9646 leading and ACS64 628 at the rear. I soon filmed the train as it departed for its next stop at Ardmore Station. Next I filmed a meet between Sept trains 1521 and 1528 "my train". Skipping ahead to Wynnewood Station my train meets Septa train 3527. My train thunders through Overbrook Maintenance Facility with some of the stored Silverliner 5's. A lot of the cars are covered with graffiti tags from sitting so long. As we approached 30th street we pass one of the leased Amtrak/Marc sets. ACS64 602 was at the rear of the train. Passing through the septa yard we see more Silverliner 5's and three full septa push pull sets. Septa AEM7DC's 2303, 2304 and 2301 are on the point of the 3 sets. On April 13, 2011 I headed out to 30th street station to film the evening rush hour of septa trains. There were many trains and dozens of railcars. Here is a list with all the railcars that were run on this day. We start out with the Airport train coming into willow grove and departing 30th street with railcars 288 446 445. We then get movement of the later to be West Trenton Train With Railcars 2461 2590 2591 2592 2595 2460 with ALP 44 engine 2308. Pictures of railcars 108, 109, 165, 166 are next along with septa signs up against the door of rail car 411. After the pictures we get the Norristown train with railcars 357 356 300 289. Fox Chase train comes in next with railcars 445 446 288 along with the Wilmington, de train with railcars 438 437. Then we get the Doylestown, airport, chestnut hill east and elwyn trains that come though. We have the following railcars Doylestown 443 444 129 130 290, Airport 403 406 364 365, Chestnut hill east 137 138 423 424 and Elwyn with the new Silverliner V railcars 802 801 701 804 803.We get some video of the elwyn train and when he leaves we get the cynwyd train with rail car 412 and the West Trenton train mentioned before. Well its been sometime since my whole family went to philly together and it was great. We got alot of things done and had a great time. As always I bring my camera to film the great train action. I decided to film the ride on Silverliner 4 #297 from Suburban Station all the way to Thorndale Station. Its rare that I go past 30th street so I though it was a good place to start filming. As we depart Suburban and head out across the stone bridge you get to see some of the complex track working leading to 30th street station. As my train enters 30th street an out bound set of silverliner 4's departs heading for Suburban Station. We depart 30th street and head through the race street yard and as you can see all of the budd cars are no longer there. We then speed up the line past the connecting bridge that for the Cynwood local and make our first stop at Overbrook station. I get a good view of the tower as we make the stop. I must note that I don't film every station stop just some of the major ones. Next stop I film was at Villanova Station. Then we make another station stop but I couldn't make out the name and as we speed along you can see the many different houses,buildings and towns that are next to the track. Theres also still a bit of snow on the ground from earlyer in the morning. We then making another stop at another station then we speed to Wayne. As we depart Wayne we pass the AT&T; building with the huge tower and then shortly after stop at Strafford. Next at paoli we get our second meet of the trip with a set of silveriner 4's heading to Philly. Next we leap ahead on the Harrisburg Line to Glen Junction were the NS line and the septa Frazer yard lead connect. After that we make a stop at Exton Station and have a meet with the eastbound Pennsylvanian with P42 #24 leading. Our next stop is at Withford station were the old PRR Thorndale branch crosses over. We then take another jump up the line a bit before Downingtown station and you get to hear the S2M horn of car #297. One of the bells is not working so it sounds just like a single chime wabco horn. After making our station stop we then make our way to Thorndale and have yet another meet with a set of silverliner 4's. You also get to see the connecting section to were the Thorndale branch crosses the eastbound tracks to gain access to Thorndale Junction. This and us pulling into Thorndale Station marks the end of the ride on silverliner 4 #297 and I hope you enjoy the trip.

We were gathered to pay our respects to SEPTA's classic Silverliner II and III MUs, delivered to the Pennsylvania and the Reading in the 1960s as part of the effort to improve Philadelphia commuter rail services. The cars had served faithfully for nearly 50 years, but by the time of our trip the statistics were grim: Out of the original fleet of 75 cars only 11 were left in service, and on this day we were riding on 3 of them: Silverliner II 266, Silverliner III 235 (one of a handful specially upgraded for Airport Line service), and Silverliner II 9001. The 266 and 235 were delivered to the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1963 and 1967 respectively, while the 9001 was delivered to the Reading in 1963. Their retirement had been planned for some time, but they were kept in service until the new Silverliner Vs arrived. With delivery of the Vs in full swing and expected to be complete by the fall, there would be no more reprieves - the IIs and IIIs were being retired as they came due for their 92-day inspections.
Starting out from the stub-end Track 0 at Suburban Station, our excursion first made a passenger stop at 30th Street Station and then traveled up the ex-PRR Chestnut Hill Branch. At Chestnut Hill West, the excursion consist posed briefly with a regular train of Silverliner Vs. After the regular train returned to Philly ahead of us, we started back down the branch and paused at Allen Lane and Queen Lane for photos, then continued back through 30th Street and Suburban Station to reach the ex-Reading line to Fox Chase.
At Fox Chase, we disembarked again for lunch, more photos, and a brief speech by Harry Garforth, Regional Rail Service Planner for SEPTA. Leaving Fox Chase, we ran back down the branch to reach the Manayunk/Norristown line, another former Reading route. While on our way to Norristown, we paused at Wissahickon for a runby before continuing onward. Perhaps it was a case of too much of a good thing after standing for the entire trip on the 5th, but for whatever reason I chose to stay on the train this time. However, I did get a chance to capture a little bit of movement at Norristown as the train pulled forward to switch to the other track for our return run.
Our final branch of the day was also the shortest - the Cynwyd Line. To get there, we traversed a massive truss bridge at 52nd Street, due to be taken out of service less than a month later to be replaced with a new structure. Some of the grading work for the new bridge approaches was visible as we curved over the bridge and down onto the branch. While the out-the-window view didn't reveal much of the bridge on our way up the branch, I did get a better look as we returned at ground level. In a fitting send-off, the final shot of the day was of dueling Silverliner IV and V sets departing 30th Street while I waited for my train back to Clifton-Aldan.
