A spiritual advisor for Donald Trump says he is a kind, giving man often misrepresented by the media.

Speaking to Neil Mitchell from North Carolina on the campaign trail, Pastor Mark Burns defended the billionaire businessman for some of his more unholy behaviour.

We are not voting for the Donald Trump 11 years ago, we are voting for the Donald Trump of today

The US presidential hopeful has come under fire for his treatment of women. 

"Is he a moral man? Yes, absolutely," Pastor Burns said.

Pastor Burns, who is a member of the Republican nominee's Evangelical Executive Advisory Board, said the media often created a "false narrative" around Trump.
