Avery Antonio Bradley Jr. (born November 26, 1990) is an American basketball guard with the Boston Celtics of the NBA.
He was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 19th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
Bradley was ranked as one of the top high school basketball players in the class of 2009. He was rated #1 in the ESPNU100,Rivals.com rated him the #4 player in the country, and Scout.com rated him #5. Bradley led Findlay College Prep to the National High School Basketball championship against Oak Hill Academy, and won 56–53. He played in the 2009 McDonald's All-American Game. He also won the 2009 McDonald's High School All-American Dunk Contest. Before transferring to Findlay Prep for his senior season, Bradley was a three year starter at Bellarmine Preparatory School (Tacoma, WA), and along with University of Washington recruit Abdul Gaddy, led Bellarmine Prep to a third place finish in the 4A (highest classification) WIAA state tournament their junior year.[citation needed]
Bradley attended the University of Texas at Austin. Bradley spent parts of his childhood in Arlington, where he became a follower of the Texas Longhorns basketball program and watched T. J. Ford.
