2nd Avenue, or Second Avenue may refer to:
Arthur Ira "Art" Garfunkel (born November 5, 1941) is an American singer, poet and actor. He partnered in his earlier years with Paul Simon in the folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel.
Highlights of his solo music career include a top 10 hit, three top 20 hits, six top 40 hits, 14 Adult Contemporary top 30 singles, five Adult Contemporary number ones, two UK number ones and a People's Choice Award. Through his solo and collaborative work, Garfunkel has earned six Grammys, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1990, he and former musical partner Paul Simon were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Garfunkel was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, the son of Rose (née Pearlman) and Jacob "Jack" Garfunkel, a traveling salesman. Art is a middle child with two brothers; the older named Jules and the younger named Jerome. Jacob's parents had originally immigrated to America at the turn of the century, and chose to settle in Manhattan. Before his career in sales, Jacob worked as an actor in Dayton, Ohio. Garfunkel is Jewish; his paternal grandparents emigrated from Iași in Romania. His maternal cousin is Lou Pearlman, founder of 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys.

Avenue(s) may refer to:
The second (symbol: s) (abbreviated s or sec) is the base unit of time in the International System of Units (SI). It is qualitatively defined as the second division of the hour by sixty, the first division by sixty being the minute. It is quantitatively defined in terms of a certain number of periods – about 9 billion – of a certain frequency of radiation from the caesium atom: a so-called atomic clock. Seconds may be measured using a mechanical, electric or atomic clock.
Full 4-minute version of Art Garfunkel's "Second Avenue" single from 1974. This single was shortened later on by eliminating a verse, and it is the short version that has appeared on CD. This long version has only ever been released on a 45 RPM record.
Tim Moore is one of those great "Singer-Songwriter" kind of guys. In his early career, he was a session musician & songwriter for Philly Soul producers like Thom Bell and the team of Gamble & Huff. Many groups have recorded his music including the Bay City Rollers with the song "Rock 'N' Roll Love Letter". Both Art Garfunkel and Tim Moore had this fantastic song called "Second Avenue" on the radio at about the same time in. Art's version did a little bit better, but I think you'll like the original version by Tim just as well....or maybe even better! "Second Avenue" made it to #58 in 1974.
Written By Tim Moore, the song was originally released by Moore on January 12th, 1975, but two days later, Art released his version (Which did considerably better). Tim apparently tried to take Art to court on the charge of "Releasing A Copy Cat Recording". Well tell me, check out Tim's version on youtube, then this one and you tell me how they could possibly similar.

Test run on 2nd Avenue Subway from north of 96th Street to 57th Street
I came across some test trains passing Lexington Avenue - 63rd St to test the third rail, signals, and track on the newly-built Second Avenue Subway! Luckily, I could see these trains from the public area of the Lexington Ave - 63rd St station from the staircases between the two levels of the station. Very interesting operation! Enjoy, and please subscribe! Note: All footage taken from the publicly-accessible area of Lexington Avenue - 63rd St. I do not condone trespassing in restricted spaces. Art Garfunkel recorded this beautiful song in 1974 in it's complete form on a 45 rpm, but this version never made it to an album. Here's a High Quality mix of the CD/Album version and the missing verse from the 45 rpm single version. The 45 rpm version has been equalized to match the quality of the CD. Enjoy! _____________________________________________________________________________ "Second Avenue" » Art Garfunkel Since we can no longer make it girl, I found a new place to live my life. Special Meeting for the upcoming Second Avenue Bridge Project
Since we can no longer make it, girl,
I found a new place to live my life.
It's really no place at all,
Just a hole in the wall, you see.
It's cold and dusty but I let it be,
Livin' here without you,
On Second Avenue.
And since our stars took different paths,
I guess I won't be shavin' in your looking glass.
Guess my old friendly grin,
Must have started to dim, somehow,
And I certainly don't need it now,
Still, I keep smiling through,
On Second Avenue.
I can still see you standing
There on the third-floor landing.
The day you visited we hardly said a word.
Outside it was rainin',
You said you couldn't be stayin,
And you went back to your flowers and your birds.
Since we can no longer see the light
The way we did when we kissed that night,
Then all the things that we felt,
Must eventually melt and fade,
Like the frost on my window pane
Where I wrote, "I Am You,"
