President Jacob Zuma says he's not afraid to go to prison. In his first public appearance since the release of the State of Capture report, the President reminded the community of Dumbe, in Kwazulu-Natal, that he had spent ten years in jail during the liberation struggle. President Zuma also took a swipe at those - who he says - always rush to the courts to try and "scare" off the ANC. This week the President withdrew his urgent court application to stop the release of the Public Protector's report. The release of the report on Thursday was celebrated by opposition parties, civil society groups and ANC stalwarts. For more news, visit: http://www.sabc.co.za/news

So plan on tuning-in: the full schedule is here: mises.org/events/virtual-mises-university-2016 Dr. Robert Higgs delivered one of our most popular and most-watched Mises U speeches in 2013, a terrific exposition entitled "The State is too Dangerous to Tolerate". It's an intellectual tour de force from Higgs, where he demolishes many of the popular misconceptions about (and justifications for) the state in one compelling talk. Recorded on October 7, 2016 Fred Barnes and Stephen Hayes discuss the media’s role in the 2016 presidential election and how it has changed and become more biased in this election. They discuss what history will say about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and how history has treated past US presidents. In addition, Barnes and Hayes discuss Obama’s legacy including Obamacare, the Iran nuclear deal, Guantanamo, and the lack of economic growth. Part of Obama’s legacy includes the rise of Trump and Clinton. Their rise is also caused by government policies, the poor economy, lack of faith in our government, and the shift to the left that this country has taken. Barnes summed up Obama’s presidency saying Obama presided over America’s retreat both internationally and domestically. Interested in m...

Oh, The State cut off my arms
and the state tore my eyes with her nails.
Hey, I was just put on this earth––a bad wind to trash the sails of all you evil men!
You should know somewhere in the night
There's a blue broken drum playing dead.
And that's... good to know!
Oh, The State tore out our hearts
and The State exposed our hearts
and wounded me, gave me this bad knee, tore down my baby's favorite tree...
But, oh!
You should know somewhere in the night
There's a blue broken drum playing dead.
And that's good to know!
Loose lips sink the lives of disgusting women,
so the State rolled me up into a ball.
I crushed diamonds in the fall and traded them for bread!
Turn away if you should hear me begin to sing!
I look like a fucking monster with this wing!
Craving new experiences, so what––
Oh but maybe you should know!
Somewhere in the night
