    I don't want foreigners, whose own countries have been ruined by overpopulation, to come to Australia and ruin ours the same way. Unlike you, I care about Australia and Australians.

    So I will translate: migrants, refugee or otherwise, add to the demand for housing. Which pushes up the value of real estate investments. Australia's wealth is our heritage, left to us by our forebears. When you bring extra people into Australia you are giving our heritage away.

    My statement is NOT divisive. Immigration is divisive. The benefits of immigration go to those already wealthy and the to migrants themselves. The very real costs of immigration are borne by the whole community, especially the poorer and younger members of it.

    I assume that you are referring to the First Fleet? They didn't want anything that the Aborigines had built, did they? Aborigines didn't create Australia's wealth. Migrants come to get a slice of the wealth built mostly by the British.
