Deep Ellum (an adaptation of southern black dialect for "deep Elm Street") is a neighborhood composed largely of arts and entertainment venues near downtown in East Dallas, Texas (USA).
The neighborhood lies directly east of the elevated I-45/US 75 (unsigned I-345) freeway and extends to Exposition Avenue, connected to downtown by, from north to south, Pacific, Elm, Main, Commerce, and Canton streets. The neighborhood is north of Exposition Park and south of Bryan Place.
Deep Ellum developed in the late 19th-century as a residential and commercial neighborhood on the east side of downtown Dallas. The area was originally called Deep Elm, but the pronunciation “Deep Ellum” by early residents led to its current and historically accepted name. Because of its proximity to the Houston and Texas Central railroad, the area was also referred to as Central Track.
As one of Dallas’ first commercial districts for African-Americans and European immigrants, Deep Ellum is one of the most historically significant neighborhoods in the city. The district boasts the city’s largest collection of commercial storefronts from the early 20th century and includes many individual structures significant in their own right.

In the 20s & 30s Deep Ellum- an area of downtown Dallas Texas was a happening area... after its heyday, it lay dormant for many years until the late 80s and early 90s when several clubs, businesses, and artists/musicians began calling it home. When I was growing up and in high school during the late 70s, only local "cover" bands could play in Dallas Fort Worth clubs. With the revitalization of Deep Ellum, the area supported artistic creativity on many levels and the music scene really took off...Theater Gallery, Prophet Bar, Trees, DaDa, etc. Enjoy the memories. This video was created way back in 1991 and was never meant to be an in depth representation of the best venues and bands. I was just out of college a couple of years at that point and just trying to build a portfolio. So I borrowe...

Shopping in Dallas - Texas - United States World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ For many people, the very name of Dallas is synonymous with retail therapy. The city's motto, after all, is 'if it can't be found in Dallas, it can't be found anywhere'. This is where Neiman Marcus, 1618 Main Street, began its fashion business in 1907, as an 'exclusive woman's ready-to-wear store'. Today, all manner of big names have gravitated around it, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co and Christian Dior. The huge department store chain JC Penney also originated in Dallas. Key areas: The majority of fine shopping in Dallas is found just north of downtown in the Uptown district and in Highland Par...

What does it mean to be a Dallas Blonde? Sounds like a loaded question. So load it up we did, with citrusy and floral American hops, Pale, Vienna and Wheat malts. Yielding a delicately balanced, and shimmering golden ale. To us, it just goes down easy. 5.2% ABV//23 IBU Brewed at Deep Ellum Brewing Co. in Dallas, TX.
