Galaga! Did you get nostalgic when you saw the game title? Well slow your roll... Remember how George Lucas made Star Wars "better"? Yeah... It's not they bad, but it's definitely not the old Galaga you were thinking of when you read the title. However, if you can push past that lack luster nostalgic feeling you'll find an enjoyable game.

Adequate modern successor to an arcade classic Instead of plugging in quarters, now you have IAP ships and upgrade timers. The action isn't fast but is scaled well to touch screens. Having a finger on the screen makes it tough to see and so it is an unfortunately common end to a run by backing into something.

Great app, been having a lot of fun playing a classic from my childhood. One request from the Developers, please remove the loading screen music if I have my music turned off in the app. Too many times already I have needed to be quiet while I opened the game and it plays the loading screen music really loudly. My app settings should be recognized during the loading screen too.

Beautifully made An amazing, well polished experence with great music, graphics, and gameplay. A very good way to bring a loved experence and build on it. The ships shouldn't need money to get though. Like maybe you could let us use extra warp capsules to start of with a different ship? Keep up the good work!
Restore Purchase Trouble While I spent the money on one phone to get all that I could buy I could not seem to get my previous purchases to show up on my other phone. No biggie. However, I can't even buy the ships again as it tells me I already own them and cannot select them. Frustrating...

Had Potential The gameplay is actually fun, if you get to play. It's all the little interruptions that make the game horrible. Between the ads and in app purchases there is too much distractions to focus on the game. Uninstalling soon. They should have charged $0.99 for the game and not done ads and IAP.

More tiring less fun than Original Galaga If you like holding your finger on the screen at all times, this is your game. You only get 1 life which wasn't a deal breaker until I realized every time you took off your finger it paused the game. It is somehow way harder, in a bad way, than the original but with ads to get you more of their made up currency!
Good basic shooting game Galaxy Note 3 on T-Mobile with Lollipop. Galaga with the Galaxian, Xevious and Starblade Namco ships plus some mild changes to an established genre. Visually pleasing with decent music and sound effects. To enhance the other ships you must spend $1 for each ship first.
Can't see The game started without me and something was killing something. My score, one of the few things I could see, was going up but each time I interacted with the screen it would pause. Then commercial popped up, I expect adds but entire commercials? My data costs money and this was a waste of it.
I JUST CANNOT STOP MYSELF GIVING 5 STARS FOR DESIGN But I want to Give 4 Stars in actual, Due to The fact that___not even one Spacecraft is Unlockable, or I cannot invest my Skills to Get Some of Great Powers.....___. Purchasing Everything is not Good at All players For a Great Game like This.______PLEASE UPDATE WITH MORE SKILL BASED UNLOCKS.... NOT MONEY BASED
Abomination When I was a kid I got one of those Namco 100-games-in-one PS1 games and discovered Galaga. I played the hell out of that game and almost 20 years later it's still one of my favorite games. I was so excited to see Galaga in the Play Store today! ...Then I played it. It's crap. It's nothing like the classic and it's very much a free to play game. Honestly, Radiant is a better Galaga game than this.
THIS IS A GREAT GAME, BUT BUFF IT Look the game is great but..... Why do we die in one hit, i mean its based of the original but atleast u got 3 lives. Can u plz give us health bars, getting hit by one laser and bumping into an alien souldnt one-shot a metal ship. Also make some of the other ships unlockable plz.
Great rendition of a classic game. I'll start by saying that this is one of the best mobile games I've ever played. Galaga is fun and this "reboot" is awesome. The only reason this isn't rated 5 stars is because you can't unlock any of the other ships without paying real money. I wish you could buy them with the "coins" instead. Also, some of the ads are extremely intrusive and won't let you skip them until you've literally played a demo of the game being advertised. What's up with that?
This is a good way to celebrate the anniversary of Galaga. The gameplay is well polished. There is one problem though, and I have also seen this in Pac-Man Championship Edition DX. The audio is distorted when using my HDMX Journey Bluetooth headphones. Other than that, excellent work Bandai Namco.
My New Favorite Game! This game hits me hard with nostalgia of the older coin drop games I used to play! And I am hoping there will be more stuff added in the future, like bonus stages and maybe more spaceships! This has a lot of potential and I want to see it succeed!
Horrible lag and stops when playing This game is horrible and really is best of taken down from the Play Store. Whole lot of lag and delay, very horrible. The game itself is fun and great but the administration of this game have Alot of work ahead of them and might need to get started.
Not bad for a mobile version. For this to be a mobile reboot of a classic game it is pretty nice. Some say that this doesn't do the classic galaga justice and I agree. But its an app that most people will play on their phones and not a game played on consoles. I love this game. Great way to spend 10 minutes when you are bored. I would love for their to be a real reboot of galaga for either pc or console though
Damn! Awesome.. I am so much in love with this modern spin-off that I don't have words to describe it. First, the welcome music.. A music I hadn't listened in ages and I loved the feeling. The in-game music is also such that it feels like living in a nostalgic NES era. Second, the signature captured ship of original Galaga won my heart. Free it and use double ships, although I would like to see such thing if there was on-screen capture of one ship and you free it with another life.
Games a blast. I especially love how you have the Galaxian ship. One problem though. For some reason it started glitching and my ship wouldn't move much at all, and it got me killed in the middle of a boss fight. Is that normal or? Also, is it possible for you guys to make it so you can get the ships in another way?
One single life. One single slip up and it's Game over man! one time in each game you can either spend 100 coins (I gather 15-20 in one game) or watch one 35+ second ad. There is no extra lives so the game ends quickly. Is not fun at all. Getting a better ship costs money, there is no unlock's of any kind. To upgrade you need coins, in the thousands and one game only gives me about 20 or so... You do the math
Best reboot on mobile platform Not many ads, free, Amazing background and amazing graphics. Seeing all the other ships flying around and killing the aliens made to you feel like just 1 ship in millions of others doomed to die.
Best Mobile Galaga Game Yet What took so long for you guys to get one right? This game is great, but lose the pause after "touch-control-undetected" feature please. It does not work as intended and is too distracting. Also implement a behind-the-ship finger gesture control scheme so that the player has a better perspective, and this is a game that deserves 5-stars.
Great game, but........ So addictive, at my first gameplay I immediately get addicted to this game, I can't stop myself for playing it, reminds me of my childhood game also. Indeed a great game but also has downsides. I wish the gameplay is not that too much reliant on power ups, when you have power ups, your ship is unstoppable, but when it's gone you have no more power, I wish that upgrades are not just for power ups, but also for regular bullets when you don't have power up on your disposal and a ship armor upgrade maybe.
Fun Lil homage to the original Its a lot of fun but gets hard fast. Looks really nice and honestly isn't too bad on micro transactions. Wish you could unlock more in game though and having to wait for upgrades is pretty annoying.
Fun but glitchy Fun game that pays tribute to the arcade machines of the past. Biggest problem is the finger tracking goes wonky making it impossible to control the ship at the edges of the screen and it gets quite laggy with powerups. Would be better with multiple lives.
Pretty fun game, only downsides so far are the ads can be extremely extrusive occasionally (out of an hour of play an messed me up twice), starter shop seems to be kind of bad with a magnet skill that's mostly useless, occasionally hit boxes can be off or seem to be (only happened twice in an hour) and occasionally when warping to a sector you'll be totally pinned in by enemy's bullets (within about 5 seconds of starting. This happened about 1/3 of the times i warped.). Still great if you like the genre.
Turret stops working starting at sector 3 Would give 5 stars if it worked properly. It no longer targets and shots off to the right. Annoying when getting that booster as it does not help out.
Amazing I lost hope for mobile Galaga after the first failed attempt, but holy cow this game makes up for it. It's an amazing mobile remake of the original and I love every minute! Thank you so much Bandai Namco!
Could be better with a few suggestions. This modern take on a retro classic really scratches my itch to shoot 'em up! But here are some things that would make this perfect: 1. Add a "retro graphic style" that causes the screen to look like the original Galaga. 2. Make the premium ships buyable with coins, and 3. alternate versions of power-ups that are stronger, but shorter in duration.
Wish is was like the old game. Honestly why can't developers understand we just want the old 2bit versions of games, but on mobile?? This is a game where your thumb pressure on screen controls the ship, and when you lift up, it pauses. While innovative, I think this game would have been better as a tilt-to-play game, like Temple Run. This game also has ads and wants you to make in game purchases. Again, if developers would just port the game and give it controls for mobile, that would be better. Stop reinventing the wheel.
Very fun game This game is very well made and reminds me of the old Galaga but newer. Everything is perfect except one thing, notification errors keep popping up even when it is closed. I get about 40 notifications about it not working in one week. Other than that and the tittle screen music playing when my settings say it's not supposed to, it is an excellent game.
Good fun in between adds Some people will defend it since you can technically choose not to see the adds. But if you want to play for more then 2 minutes you have to. I would give money for the app to not see them.
Initially I thought is was fantastic. Fairly intuitive and fun. But as I got better at the game I discovered that the green "power-ups" cause the controls to freeze, regularly causing me to die. Frustrating, because otherwise it's a 5 star game. Galaxy S7 Edge.
Upgraded to no ads Since I've upgraded the game stutters and freezes. It's gotten stuck when opened and become unresponsive. Caches have been cleaned and I'm trying hard to not reinstall.
Whatch Add and immediately die I repeatedly die and watch the stupid video add for a second life just to respond in a laser beam. Fix this garbage and it'd be an ok game
OK, but iAP's need to be removed. Great game, definitely worth a 5-star rating, however with in-app purchases I feel this game is more of a pay-to-play type of game. I don't mind paying a flat rate for a game but I despise in-app purchases. Ships CANNOT be earned, you must sink $1 at least to unlock a new ship. Dumb idea there, not to mention the intrusive ads as well. If I had the use of the middle finger emoji, I'd have used it here!
Yes yes yes! Great galaga version! Been waiting for this game forever! My one and only complaint is the life methods, 1 hit and you die, then you either pay 100 gold coins or watch an ad. This makes it extremely difficult to progress and enjoy the game to the fullest extent. I'm OK with the ad motto to gain extra power-ups and continue, that's a great idea but the 1hit deaths make it so much less fun than it should be. PLEASE, and I say this nicely, PLEASE rethink the game strategy so we can play to the fullest potential! You will gain more customers if they are happy and can achieve higher game results. I've already paid for 2 ships and would pay more if this was fixed!
Givin' me the finger yea!? Shooters like these should never ever be a finger draggers. Look at Atari's centipede reboot, same problem where a great game became nothing but a drag me there. It just feels lazy, give me a virtual control with shoot button any day. At least I'm not smudging an hiding my escape under lazy work...
Great engine Poor systems Game is is well made, fast and slick. However the upgrade and ship systems are severely lacking. Sky force is just better is all aspects if you feel like playing a mobile shmup.
Arcade fun with arcade payment model Judging the game itself, this is a very fun, very addicting modern take on an arcade classic. The visuals, music, and some of the old Galaga sound effects really elevate the already enjoyable gameplay. SADLY, Galaga Wars suffers from a *very* overbearing payment model that taps you on the shoulder after doing anything in game. If there was a paid "pro" version of Galaga Wars with no F2P nonsense, this would be my favorite mobile game in a long while. Brings back the feeling of needing a stack of quarters.
