Authorities say a gunman was high on cocaine when he opened fire randomly in a Los Angeles suburb, killing a 77-year-old neighbor and wounding two other people before police shot him. The Tuesday afternoon attack in Azusa shut down two nearby polling places but police say it wasn't related to the election ... John Corina says the 45-year-old shooter had a military background and was a gun fanatic ... He says the officers had to seek cover....

Authorities in California say a gunman is dead after killing a man and critically wounding two women not far from two polling places that were closed as a result. They say the assault rifle attack in the Los Angeles suburb of Azusa wasn't election-related ... Authorities called to the scene got into a gun battle and police say it's unclear whether they fatally wounded the gunman or he killed himself ... He says the officers had to seek cover....

Elections officials say one other polling site was affected, urging voters to cast their ballots in other locations....
