Kellyanne Elizabeth Conway (née Fitzpatrick; born January 20, 1967) is a Republican strategist and pollster. She is president and CEO of the polling company, inc./WomanTrend.
Before entering politics, Conway pursued a career in law. After receiving her B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College, Washington, D.C., she earned a law degree from George Washington University Law Center and then clerked for a judge in Washington, D.C. She also spent four years as an adjunct professor at George Washington University Law Center.
After practicing law, Conway entered the polling business with Wirthlin Group, a GOP polling firm which worked for Ronald Reagan. She also worked for a period for Luntz Research Research Companies before founding her own firm, The Polling Company, in 1995. Among the political figures Conway has worked for are the late Congressman Jack Kemp; former Vice President Dan Quayle; Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich; Senator Fred Thompson and Congressman (now Indiana Governor) Mike Pence. She worked as the senior advisor to Newt Gingrich during his 2012 United States presidential election campaign. In August 2015, she became the president of the Promise I Super-PAC which supports the 2016 presidential campaign of Ted Cruz and is part of a group of 4 super-PACs supporting Cruz. It's main funding was 11 million dollars from hedgefund manager Robert Mercer.
Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessperson and media personality. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Trump's career, branding efforts, personal life, wealth, and outspoken manner have made him famous throughout the country. Since 2015, he is also a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election.
Trump is a native of New York City and a son of Fred Trump, who inspired him to enter real estate development. After two years at Fordham University and while studying at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Trump worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son. Upon graduating in 1968 he joined the company, and in 1971 was given control, renaming the company "The Trump Organization". Since then he has built hotels, golf courses, and other properties, many of which bear his name. He is a major figure in the American business scene and has received prominent media exposure. The NBC reality show The Apprentice bolstered his fame, and his three marriages were extensively reported in tabloids.
A trump is a playing card which is elevated above its normal rank in trick-taking games. Typically an entire suit is nominated as a trump suit - these cards then outrank all cards of plain (non-trump) suits. In other contexts, the term trump card can refer to any sort of action, authority, or policy which automatically prevails over all others.
The word "trump" derives from "trionfi" or "triumph", documented as the name of a card game in 1529 and which spawned the game Ruff and Honours, which in turn led to Whist. Trionfi was also the name of the original card game for which tarot cards were designed, and in it the tarot cards had the role of what are now called trumps; later card games, beginning with Triomphe, started using one of the ordinary suits as a replacement for the tarots when a tarot pack was not available.
In most games, the relative rank of cards within a suit is the same in trump and plain suits, but they may sometimes differ, for example in Klabberjass, Euchre, or Eighty Points.
Tapper, also known as Root Beer Tapper, is a 1983 arcade game released by Bally Midway. The goal of the game is to serve beer (or root beer) and collect empty mugs and tips.
Tapper puts the player in the shoes of a bartender. The player must serve eager, thirsty patrons before their patience expires. The game was produced in association with Budweiser.
The Tapper game screen features four bars. Patrons arrive periodically at the end of the bar opposite the player and demand drinks. The player must draw and serve drinks to the patrons as they slowly advance towards the player. If any customers reach the player's end of the bar, they grab the player-as-bartender and toss him out the far end of the bar, costing the player a life.
The player serves customers by filling a mug at one of the four taps. Once the mug is full, the player releases the tap which automatically slides the mug towards the advancing customer. Customers catch mugs that are slid towards them, as long as they are not already drinking a beer, or otherwise distracted. If a mug is not caught by a customer (whether the customer is already drinking or distracted, or if there is no customer), then it falls off the bar on the other end, resulting in a loss of a life for the player. If a customer does catch the mug, though, then he or she is pushed back some amount towards the opposite end of the screen. The goal is to push the customer completely off the screen, but if they are not then they will stay and consume their drink in place. When a customer finishes his drink, he slides the empty mug back towards the player, after which the customer resumes his advance on the player. The player must collect the empty mugs before they reach the end of the bar and fall to the ground, as a mug falling to the ground costs a life.
During a discussion with CNN’s Jake Tapper regarding President-elect Donald Trump’s use of Twitter and whether it represents presidential behavior, Trump campaign manager and senior adviser Kellyanne Conway took umbrage with the question and invoked Bill Clinton. During the forum, Tapper brought up Trump’s tweet where he falsely claimed millions of people illegally voted to make the case that he actually won the national popular vote. He then mentioned other Twitter activity by Trump, such as attacking a CNN reporter and retweeting a 16-year-old. In response to Tapper’s question if this was “presidential behavior,” Conway stated that Trump is “the President-elect so that’s presidential behavior.”
CNN’s Jake Tapper spoke with incoming White House chief of staff Reince Priebus this morning about conflict-of-interest issues surrounding Donald Trump and his businesses. He pointed to how when the President-elect met with the prime minister of Japan, Ivanka Trump (who’ll be helping run her father’s businesses while he’s president) was in the room. In addition, Trump personally met last week with three Indian business partners. He asked Priebus if the Trump team isn’t concerned about the “huge cauldron of potential conflicts.”
During an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani struggled to directly answer host Jake Tapper’s questions regarding the conflict of interests that could be present with President-elect Donald Trump allowing his children to run his business. Reminding Giuliani that Trump giving his businesses to his children doesn’t represent an independent blind trust, the ex-mayor shot back that those laws don’t apply to the the president when it comes to placing business dealings in a blind trust. He also said it would create more problems and place his kids out of work.
In an interview with Jake Tapper, Donald Trump discusses violence at rallies, the 'Mexican heritage' of the judge presiding over the Trump University Fraud case and more
CNN’s Jake Tapper got into a pretty feisty 10+ minute back and forth with Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway today over everything from “Grievanceburg” to Trump’s cries of election rigging. Tapper asked her if she was aware Trump would open that big speech yesterday with a “list of grievances.” Conway initially pointed to the rest of the speech before saying, “He delivers his own speeches… He has a privilege to say what he wants.” Conway attempted to shift things to WikiLeaks but Tapper pressed her on the substance of Trump’s “Drain the Swamp” pledge before getting around to the rigged election talk.
Donald Trump Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway on an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper spins and deflects questions about Trump's record and the fact that he has yet to release his tax returns as he promised. Kellyanne barely bothers answering Tapper's questions instead opting to talk about Hillary Clintons maid and her emails. Kellyanne has also adopted the awkward talking point lately that based on her qualifications as a U.S. Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton should be winning by more. She also went on to criticize Hillary Clinton for campaigning in Blue states. It's clear that Clinton is poised for a huge LANDSLIDE especially if you compare where the polls are right now vs the Obama Romney election that the Republican's lost (332 to 206) while they were tied at 48 perce...
CNN’s Jake Tapper interviewed Curt Schilling today and it was going pretty well until Schilling started asking Tapper some personal questions… Schilling spoke with Tapper about his plans to consider a run for Senate against Elizabeth Warren in 2018, which he made clear would have to be a family decision. But then Tapper confronted Schilling on sharing memes in the past that ridiculed trans people and likened Muslims to Nazis. Both of those things got Schilling in hot water with ESPN––the anti-trans meme got him fired––but Schilling said it was unfair to 1) judge him on a meme someone else made that he shared, and 2) to think he was attacking all Muslims and not just the extremists. Tapper also asked him about his reaction to Donald Trump‘s now-infamous remarks about grabbing women in th...
CNN EXCLUSIVE: Protestor's in the street chant ,"No Nazi's, No KKK, No Fascist USA" in protest to Trump being elected to the US Presidency not by virtue of the popular vote, but by winning the Electoral College. Jake Tapper discusses The Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. Speaker Ryan like Trump and others are now admitting that the ACA does help millions of people and simply want to make adjustments for the parts that aren't working as predicted. Ironically this is the same solution offered by Hillary Clinton from the beginning. 1Ryan offers a solution of giving a refundable tax credit to enrollees of the ACA, which, if you think about it, doesn't work unless you itemize your taxes. As we all know if you are in a lower income bracket and not a homeowner, the standard deduction is the ...
