Sign into your Microsoft account. If you have used Microsoft services in the past — like Xbox, Outlook.com, OneDrive, Skype, or Windows Phone — you already have a Microsoft account. Make sure you use the same Microsoft account on all the devices you want to share with.

Step 2: Search

Go to the Windows Store, the Xbox Store, or the Web and search, browse, rent or buy your favorite movies and TV shows.

Watch with the Microsoft Movies & TV app on your device or on the Web. When you rent or buy from Microsoft, it's playable on Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox or the Web.

*System Requirements: Microsoft Movies & TV requires a broadband internet connection and a Microsoft account. Xbox Live Rewards requires an Xbox Live account. The Microsoft Movies & TV app is currently available for Windows (10.X), Xbox One and Xbox 360. The Xbox Video app is available for Windows 8.X/RT PCs and tablets, and Windows Phone 8.X. Windows RT and Windows Phone 8.X users must use the Xbox Video app. For Windows users (XP, Vista, 7.X, 8.X, 10.X), the Microsoft Store requires: Internet Explorer 10+, Firefox 18+ or Chrome 24+, and Silverlight 5+. For Macintosh users (10.6.8+ Intel-based), the Microsoft Store requires: Safari 6.0+ and Silverlight 5+.

Availability: Microsoft Movies & TV is currently available in the following 21 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Available features vary by country and by device. Microsoft Movies & TV does not currently support Windows Phone in Japan, the purchase of TV shows is not currently supported in Belgium, and closed captioning is available in the U.S. only. Not all Movies and TV shows are available from all studios, in all languages, or in all countries. Free movie weekends are not available in all countries. On the Xbox One and the Microsoft Store, Microsoft Movies & TV is streaming only. Available Xbox, Kinect for Xbox One, and Kinect for Xbox 360 features vary by country. Xbox Live Rewards is not available in all countries.

Usage Restrictions: The Microsoft Movies & TV app allows you to watch movies and TV shows purchased from the Windows Store, the Xbox Store and the Microsoft Store, as well as movies & TV shows previously purchased on Xbox Video or Zune Marketplace. TV shows can only be purchased, not rented. If you rent a movie from Microsoft, in most cases you will have 14 days to start watching the movie. And once you start watching, in most cases you will have a 24-hour window to finish watching the movie. After the rental has been viewed, or the time limits have been reached, the movie will automatically disappear from your collection.
