From a standout at Putnam City North to Heisman winner at Oklahoma to number one NFL Draft pick by the St. Louis Rams, Bradford is one of the great success stories in the history of our show. Of all the athletes we've features on this show, one of the most successful might be Sam Bradford, who we met as a high school senior in 2006. "Football, I think my strength is probably my, just the mental aspect. Being able to take everything in, being pretty smart, knowing where to throw, when to throw, when to run. Basketball would probably be, just, my size and ability to shoot the three, like, I'm a pretty good shooter, so I think, you know, I can get a little mismatch, you know, get a smaller guy and then I can take him to the post if I need to, 'cause I played a guard. Golf's probably just my distance. I think that helps me the most is I can hit it pretty far." [Sam Bradford] In Oklahoma City, Bradford matured before his parents' eyes as he grew from a grinning youngster to a high school stand out with a stack of scholarship offers. "We kind of knew about Sam as he was coming up. And then, when he got here as a freshman, he was just head and shoulders above most of the other kids. Literally, I mean his height and his ability."[ David Diefenderfer, Assistant Football Coach] "I try to let all my actions, like my playing, I try to let all that speak for me. Like, I'm not, I mean, I don't think there's any need for me to, like, tell anyone how good I am. I think if they see me then they'll know if I'm good or not. So, I mean, I just try to, you know, stay humble and just be thankful for everything people say to me." [Sam Bradford] We spent a whole day with Sam Bradford and never heard a bad word about him. Much of the credit for Sam's success goes to his parents. "He's been very easy to raise. Hasn't cause us any problems, I mean, every now and then, I'll just have to make something up to get mad at him for. You know, I got to get mad at him about something. But, no, he's been a great kid. I've had it real easy. My parenting has been real simple. [Kent Bradford, Sam's father] Bradford has been one of the great success stories in the history of this show.
