You are the leader of a party of four prison guards that have to catch or kill the 15 prisoners that escaped during a prison break. Oh, and the prison is located several floors below the surface, in the middle of a monster-filled dungeon. I saw it on Steam and my interest was piqued. Having spent dozens, if not hundreds, of hours on Might and Magic 1-5, it felt like a good excuse to fill up my nostalgia meter! So far, I'm having fun! You control a party of four, choosing from different races and classes. Each of the four base classes (Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric) has three specializations, so you're actually choosing from 12 different options. Most Warriors are tanks, but the Paladin is a damage dealer. Most Rogues are damage dealers, but the Duelist is a tank. The Clerics are healers, or healer/damage hybrids. Mages are damage dealers, but can have some other tricks the sleeves of their robes. Movement through the world happens turn based, with one grid per turn. There are very good keyboard controls, but if you want you can use the mouse as well. The moment combat is started, the game changes to a pauseable realtime timeline. You can queue up abilities for your party, and when they are waiting for cooldowns, your party uses their standard attacks. The difficulty can be controlled to a pretty high degree, and it can be changed during gameplay. Useful if you get stuck halfway through the game. The developer claims over 30 hours of gameplay, but looking at the class choices and difficulty slider, it is probably possible to get a lot more hours out if you want to play with different party compositions at higher difficulties. The game is available directly from the developer for $19.95. It is also available on Steam. I have played it on Windows without issues.
