Mickey Arthur will pledge his allegiances to Australia just hours before taking off to coach Pakistan.
The former South African and Australian cricket coach has accepted a job to coach Pakistan, but has one job on his to-do list before he departs.
Arthur and his family, who have lived in Perth since he took up the job to coach Western Australian in 2010, will acquire their citizenship on Wednesday.
"Myself and my family are very excited about it," Arthur said.
"We'll be sworn in as Australian citizens then I can get passport straight after it."
"Our home is Perth ... my family is going to stay in Perth and I will be back in Perth whenever I can be ... Perth is home for us now without a doubt."
