Cam McCarthy says he suffered no regrets at sitting out the 2016 AFL season even with the success of the GWS Giants.
The South Fremantle product played 21 games for the Giants after being taken with pick 14 in the 2013 national draft, but sat out last season after a trade home could not be done.
McCarthy, 21, praised the people at GWS and said he was pleased to see them make a preliminary final.
"I was wrapt watching every week. I've got heaps of good mates over there," McCarthy said.
"I was wrapt to see them all play some unreal football and I was hoping they'd go all the way and win the flag.
