Little-known Paul Ahern headlined Monday's trades with Melbourne and Hawthorn failing to complete a deal for Jordan Lewis.

The Age footy writer Rohan Connolly joined Sports Today to discuss Monday and what may still happen before Thurday's 2pm EDST deadline.

The boys covered:

- What will Melbourne need to give up to get Jordan Lewis?

- Are the Hawks giving up too much to get Jager O'Meara?

- Will Bryce Gibbs get to Adelaide?

- Why hasn't the Dion Prestia deal been done yet?

- The recurring theme of players wanting to go home.

- Brett Deledio to potentially join the Western Bulldogs.
