Sydney coach John Longmire has heaped praised on first-year player Callum Mills after his standout season.
Mills was selected at pick three as an Academy pick by the Swans in last year's national draft.
The 19-year-old has only missed one game so far this season when he was rested and averaged 18 possessions and almost five marks per game.
Before he arrived at the Swans the defender had not played in defense throughout his junior career.
"He's a very mature person the way he approaches his footy," Logmire said.
"You don't have to sit down there and teach him a lot.
"He really understands what he's done well and what he's done not so well throughout a game.
"He's a very mature person for his age."
