Fremantle's three-game winning streak has come to an end with Collingwood comfortably taking a 48-point victory from the Dockers at the MCG.

Matthew Pavlich gave his team hope at times with his two goals, while Michael Barlow clocked up 31 disposals. But it was the 'Pies who were in charge with nine separate goal kickers and Adam Treloar had 33 disposals, in their 12.13 (85) to 5.7 (37) win.

Collingwood came out strong kicking two goals within moments of the first bounce down and worked hard to keep the ball in their half of the ground and left Fremantle goalless in the first term.

Michael Walters got his Dockers on the board with a goal in the second quarter, but the 'Pies kicked four goals to stretch out the margin. Sam Collins worked hard in defence and the team had a total of 51 tackles at the main break.

Fremantle showed promise in the third term with Matthew Pavlich and Hayden Ballantyne both kicking majors while Collingwood were left goalless.

Pavlich gave his team hope kicking the first goal of the final quarter but as the rain started to come down Collingwood quickly adapted to the conditions and took control of the game.
