Andrew Forrest is hailing the trial of the cashless welfare card in the East Kimberley as a success and pushing for an expansion of it.

The card operates like a normal bank card although it can't be used to buy alcohol, withdraw cash or gamble.

Mr Forrest said the trial is working well and that the feedback from the community is positive.

He spoke with Adam Shand and took calls from 6PR listeners.
