Wheeler Oakman (February 21, 1890 – March 19, 1949) was an American film actor.
Oakman appeared in over 280 films between 1912 and 1948. He usually portrayed a henchman, and rarely had a leading role.
In 1932, he appeared alongside John Wayne in Texas Cyclone.
Oakman was married at one time to Priscilla Dean, his costar in Outside the Law (1920).
He died in Van Nuys, California at age 59. Wheeler Oakman was interred at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood, California.
Timothy John Fitzgerald "Tim" McCoy (April 10, 1891 – January 29, 1978) was an American actor, military officer, and expert on American Indian life and customs.
Born the son of an Irish Union Civil War soldier who later became police chief in Saginaw, he became a major film star most noted for his roles in Western films. He was so popular with youngsters as a cowboy star that he appeared on the cover of Wheaties cereal boxes.
He attended St. Ignatius College in Chicago (now Loyola) and, after seeing a Wild West show there, left school and found work on a ranch in Wyoming. He became an expert horseman and roper and developed a knowledge of the ways and languages of the American Indian tribes in the area. He competed in numerous rodeos, then enlisted in the United States Army when America entered World War I.
McCoy was a decorated soldier in the United States Army during World War I (although not in combat or overseas) and again in World War II in Europe, rising to the rank of colonel with the Army Air Corps and Army Air Forces. He also served the state of Wyoming as its adjutant general between the wars with the brevet rank of brigadier general. At 28, he was one of the youngest brigadier generals in the history of the U.S. Army.
Ethel Waters (October 31, 1896 – September 1, 1977) was an American blues, jazz and gospel vocalist and actress.
She frequently performed jazz, big band, and pop music, on the Broadway stage and in concerts, although she began her career in the 1920s singing blues.
Her best-known recordings include "Dinah," "Stormy Weather," "Taking a Chance on Love," "Heat Wave," "Supper Time," "Am I Blue?" and "Cabin in the Sky," as well as her version of the spiritual "His Eye Is on the Sparrow." Waters was the second African American, after Hattie McDaniel, to be nominated for an Academy Award. She is also the first African-American woman to be nominated for an Emmy Award, in 1962.
Ethel Waters was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, on October 31, 1896, as a result of the rape of her teenaged mother, Louise Anderson (believed to have been 13 years old at the time, although some sources indicate she may have been slightly older), by John Waters, a pianist and family acquaintance from a mixed-race middle-class background. He played no role in raising Ethel. Ethel Waters was raised in poverty and never lived in the same place for more than 15 months. She said of her difficult childhood, "I never was a child. I never was cuddled, or liked, or understood by my family."

Kermit Maynard (September 20, 1897 – January 16, 1971) was an American actor and stuntman. He appeared in 280 films between 1927 and 1962. He was a lookalike younger brother of actor Ken Maynard; they were frequently assumed to be identical twins. Born in Vevay, Indiana, he played college football as a lineman for the Indiana Hoosiers in the early 1920s. He died in North Hollywood, California, from a heart attack.
