Miss Winter Interview with Mick & Jay - Country Music World

In this episode of Country Music World, Mick & Jay head directly to Sweden to interview Swedish Country trio Miss Winter. Jenny, Linda and Anna from Miss Winter sat down with Mick & Jay and talked about many things, including how big the country music market is throughout Sweden and Europe, how the crowds interact with their music and their dreams of heading to Nashville one day! Mick & Jay thought it would be only fair to teach them some Aussie Slang words and they all laughed their way through the entire interview, the girls even sang a couple of songs when they got a chance! ​ “Our stories are important. They should be honest, straight forward and with very little rendition. It’s important to us that the lyrics has a true meaning and that they tell something interesting and maybe a little bit exiting to the audience.” Miss Winter is Anna, Linda and Jenny. Three Swedish singers with passion for harmonies, country music and their common Swedish musicheritage. All three have been working as musicians and singers all their lives, but never writing and performing their own music. But when they released their debutsingle “The road” it was clear that there is an audience who really like them and their music. This year the trio has been working on new material while playing for their audience back home in Sweden. The writing process sometimes takes time, and they don´t want to rush anything. But in oktober 2016 “Making Stories” finally is released. Six songs that it took a while to put in their right costume. – We´ve been working hard in the studio writing and recording new material. With some songs we knew it and felt it right away. But sometimes it just takes time, and it have to. Especially with one of our new songs it took some time to really, really get that special feeling. And we´ve been searching hard for that special line, but we found it, says Jenny. – We are putting our experiences and influences to good use, working to create the sound we’re looking for. We really like it when we find that right balance in the music where our voices gets to be in the center, says Anna. – We’ve been longing so much to finally be able to share these fantastic new songs we’ve been working on. We love each track from the first note and we really hope and believe that the audience will feel the same, says Linda. The debut single “The Road” was released in spring 2015. The song was played extensively on radio and in summer 2015 Miss Winter played live on different stages around Sweden. On october 28the EP Making Stories will be released.
