Born (crater)

Born is a small lunar impact crater located near the eastern edge of the Moon, to the northeast of the prominent crater Langrenus. It was previously designated Maclaurin Y before being named by the IAU in 1979.Maclaurin itself lies to the north.

This crater is circular and generally cup-shaped, with dark patches stretching from the midpoint toward the northeastern rim. It is otherwise undistinguished.

Born (album)

Born is the first album released by the classical crossover string quartet Bond. The album was a huge commercial success, reaching Gold in fourteen countries and Platinum in twelve. The album reached number 16 in the UK charts, spending 6 weeks in the top 40, and was also no. 1 in the UK Classical charts, but was subsequently removed from these charts for not meeting all the 'rules' of classical music.

The album was re-released in 2001 with an additional track.

The album rose to the #1 position on 21 different charts around the world.

Aleksei Kapler

Aleksei (born Lazar) Yakovlevich Kapler (also Alexei, Russian: Алексей (born Лазарь) Яковлевич Каплер); (15 September 1904 – 11 September 1979) was a prominent Soviet filmmaker, screenwriter, actor and writer. He was known as screenwriter of many Soviet movies, such as Lenin in 1918, Amphibian Man, The Blue Bird and Striped Trip, as well as one of the anchors and directors of TV program Kinopanorama (a cinema overview). In 1941, Kapler was awarded the Stalin Prize.

Internments in the Gulag

Kapler is also known as the first love of Joseph Stalin's daughter, Svetlana Alliluyeva. According to Stalin's daughter, that was the reason for Kapler to be sentenced in 1943 to five years in exile on charges of anti-Soviet agitation. He was sent to Vorkuta region, where he worked as a photographer.

In 1948, he was convicted a second time and spent five more years in Inta labour camps, being finally released only in July 1953. After returning from the Gulag, Kapler continued working on cinema and TV.

"Rise" is the second single released by the alternative hip hop group Flobots from Denver, Colorado. It was released from Flobots' album Fight with Tools.

Music video

The Flobots filmed a music video for this song on July 6, 2008, at the Gothic theater In Denver, Colorado. The video shows a rock concert intermixed with scenes of pro-American posters and people working to make the world a better place, such as planting trees and committing random acts of kindness. The video features almost everyone in some form of American Flag bandanna, much like the cover for Flobot's album "Fight with Tools." In the video, multiple references are made to the website americawillbe.org, a pro-peace website dedicated to the visions of what people want USA to be.

Chart performance

On September 13, 2008, "Rise" charted on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks at number 36. So far, the song has peaked at number 33.

Rise: Blood Hunter

Rise: Blood Hunter is a 2007 neo-noir action-horror film written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez. The film stars Lucy Liu and Michael Chiklis; a supernatural thriller about a reporter (Liu) who wakes up in a morgue to discover she is now a vampire. She vows revenge against the vampire cult responsible for her situation and hunts them down one by one. Chiklis plays "Rawlins," a haunted police detective whose daughter is victimized by the same group and seeks answers for her gruesome death.

Plot

Reporter Sadie Blake has just published a notable article featuring a secret Gothic party scene. The very night following the publication, one of Sadie's sources, Tricia Rawlins, is invited by her friend Kaitlyn to an isolated house in which such a party is to take place. Tricia is reluctant to enter with the curfew set by her strict father, so Kaitlyn goes alone. When she does not return, Tricia becomes worried and enters the house as well. To her horror, she finds Kaitlyn in the basement with two vampires hanging onto her and drinking her blood. She tries to hide, but the vampires find her quickly. The next day, Sadie learns of the girl's death and decides to investigate the matter. She soon attracts the interest of the vampire cult, who kidnap her and bring her in for questioning. Following that, she is raped and murdered by the vampires.

USS Crossbill (AMc-9)

USS Crossbill (AMc-9) was a coastal minesweeper of the United States Navy. Built in 1937 as North Star by the Watchorn Yacht and Boat Works, San Pedro, California, the ship was acquired by the U.S. Navy on 31 October 1940, and commissioned as USS Crossbill (AMc 9) on 22 March 1941. Crossbill operated in an in-service status attached to the 14th Naval District from 1941 to 1947. Crossbill was decommissioned in 1947. Fate unknown.
