This meal was absolutely delish!! Very easy, do need to be home though to make on a weekday because of the cooking time. My husband is not very keen on chicken or rice but he really enjoyed this dish. I used a whole chicken which browned beautifully in the last half hour when the dish was uncovered. I used Moroccon Seasoning as I could not find The Middle Eastern Spice Mix. I now know that this spice mix is called Harissa. This will be on the weekly menu for a few weeks. Yummy!!

Loved this recipe. Just watch the fluid level as the rice absorbs a lot of water. Great the next day with the chicken shredded through the rice.

Loved it. I made it with drumstick instead of a whole chicken and used stock instead of water. The rice had lots of yummy flavor.

This is one of our family favourites. My husband enjoys making this one and uses chicken thigh in place of a whole chicken. Has turned out beautiful every time. A great mix of flavours.

This was a wonderful meal - although, like most people, I changed the recipe around a bit. I used brown rice instead of the basmati, and made my own "middle-eastern" spice mix since I only had the contributing parts. I also used around a kilo of wings instead of a whole chicken. The meal came out really well, and was a good way to use up bits and pieces from the pantry.

Yummo. Due to timing etc I cooked the chicken for 2 hours at 150 (not preheated) in a dutch oven. Then cooked the rice seperately in the rice cooked using the onion/pistachio mixture as the stock. Was sensational, the chicken was so tender. Served with Roast Carrrot and Rocket Salad to which I also added roast capsicum. Everthing turned out really well - highly recommended

A divine combination. Cheap to make and easy enough for the kids to make under supervision. All in all the whole family loved it and it will become a firm favourite. Might try adding some fetta next time also and perhaps sundried tomatoes and olives.
