Production underway at Dandenong South’s award-winning start-up, Biofuel Innovations

PRODUCTION is underway at Dandenong South’s award-winning start-up, Biofuel Innovations.

Founders Dr Rebecca Yee and Dale Barnet, who met while studying chemical engineering at university, have come up with a process to safely process waste oil into high quality biodiesel that can be used in any diesel engine.

Mr Barnett said overseeing the design and construction of the lean start-up had been a “challenging but rewarding process”.

“We’re so lucky to have the support of our friends, family, and business mentors,” Mr Barnett said.

“It’s exciting to get to this stage where we can begin trading.”

Clients will be able to order biodiesel for trials at discounted rates. Use of this sustainable fuel significantly reduces carbon emissions and exhaust pollution.

The start-up is also open to equity investment to help build their next biofuel facility.
