JUST days after the bride downplayed marriage rumours, Jesinta Campbell and Buddy Franklin have tied the knot in a top-secret wedding.
The newlyweds, who made their debut on social media in the early hours of this morning, made their announcement via Instagram.
Earlier this week, Jesinta Campbell — who has taken the surname Franklin — told Today show host Lisa Wilkinson that the couple had no wedding plans, just a month-long holiday ahead.
“You are not going to go away and elope? You are not going to rob us of the wedding moment are you?” Wilkinson asked.
“No, for us, this year for us was focusing on health and happiness and getting through the year,” Jesinta said.
Wilkinson then asked if the wedding was still on hold, to which Jesinta replied, “Yes”.
The couple, who had previously postponed their wedding, told News Corp in May that they would probably just elope.
On Thursday, it was business as usual for the model and David Jones ambassador, who was on hand to help unveil the store’s annual Christmas window display.
But the eastern suburbs power couple were quietly planning the wedding of the year — a private outdoor ceremony at Mount Wilson’s Wildenstein Gardens
Breaking the news on Instagram, Jesinta posted stunning images of “Mr & Mrs Franklin,” via her new Insta-handle Jesinta Franklin.
Despite earlier statements she would go for a simple wedding, Jesinta looked every bit the princess bride in a stunning full-skirted Vera Wang gown with cathedral veil — perhaps inspired by her front-row appearance at the label’s New York Fashion Week earlier this year.
The groom wore a suit by Hugo Boss.
The couple went public with their romance in November 2013, and announced their engagement in December 2014 but were forced to postpone wedding plans after the Swans tar took a break from the game due to mental health issues.
Jesinta described the time as “tough and challenging” but has remained supportive of her husband and a champion for mental health issues.
The 25-year-old model and television presenter told the Daily Telegraph earlier this year that the couple planned on becoming parents down the track.
“I can’t wait to have a family one day, when that is I don’t know,” she said.
“Especially at Christmas time, you do think about one day sharing that with your own children and how you are going to create Christmas and make it as special for them as it was for you growing up.
As for how many children the high-profile pair will have, she laughed: “Who knows. We will start with one and see how it goes after that.”
She and Franklin are yet to decide where they will spend the festive season this year, although it is most likely to be in Queensland with her family.
“When I have children is when I will get really festive because I really love all the decorations and all of that,” she said.
Franklin, who is two years into a nine-year, $10 million deal with this year’s AFL runners-up, is set to ink a deal with high-profile publicity and brand strategist Annie Kelly following a two-year tenure with Sharon Finnigan, who also manages Karl Stefanovic and Shane Watson.
