Banned Essendon players return to training

Nine of the 10 players who were banned for the entire 2016 season because of the supplements saga joined the first to fourth-year players at Essendon's training hub in Tullamarine.

Jobe Watson - sporting a backwards hat, bright yellow boots and a broad smile - took part in the session, as did Dyson Heppell, who was looking particularly lean.

Key position players Cale Hooker and Michael Hurley (whose beard is a story in itself) were moving well in their first session back.

Tagger Heath Hocking was the only one missing, and it's believed he was attending a wedding.

Melbourne's Michael Hibberd and Jake Melksham, also suspended due to the supplements saga at their former club, resumed training with the Demons on Monday.

Bombers coach John Worsfold is due to hold a media conference after training.
