sub sub - full fathom five 1994

sub sub was comprised of hacienda regulars jimi goodwin, jez and andy williams. a mancunian band that was also known as metro trinity in the eighties which was a tough act to follow with john male(also on sensation, republica, airstream, sfs, etc.) on vocals and later on became what is now more familiar to indie rockers as doves. johnny male appeared on one of the songs from this album called "angel". their music is very very different from the now highly sought after 12" record of metro trinity and the shoegaze/indie sound of doves. this time i think they dropped the guitar and pick up a keyboard and upgraded to a more house-influenced beat the mid nineties were accustomed to. a few handpicked songs are available for listening just to give you an idea of they sounded like. i  would like to apologies for the cracks and pops it is after all ripped from a vinyl some sixteen years ago.

cetu javu - help me now! 12" 1987

wassup peeps!? so sorry i haven't been able to post some new materials lately, it just because sapagkatdahilsubalitngunitdatapwatporke i have some important things to take care off and has nothing to do with records or music. but it's all taken care of now! so no more worries.... here we have one of the most sought after record from a very well-known(i didn't mean 102.7 mainstream-famous) synth group of the eighties. released and self produced independently by the band.
this may not be the most important record in my collection personally but it has to be one of the most valuable vinyl i've ever owned. i just learned that this was the band's 1st record ever released. surely it's not to be mentioned with likes of moscopeboys or the hardy boys or any other boys' band out there, lol(juz kidding) but this record and it's scarcity tells us otherwise! with only 1,000 copies released and me being one of the lucky possessors(five others that i know are selling it, why??!!). it's obvious that this band need no introduction, most of their informations are pretty much within reach online. so without further ado... it's time to start listening!

camouflage - this day 7" 1991

a german synth trio that's often compared to depeche mode going back as early as their 1st single "the great commandment", released  a mess of records(when i say mess i mean tons of good stuff). although non of their singles after the 2nd album reached the majority of the american audience this single here back in 1991 is when they presumably dropped the synth for a mellow violin, i still think that they haven't lost their touch in fact they're still making music up to this day. and this is one here is one of my favorite from the band a porky prime cut taken from "meanwhile" cd on germany's own metronome label. sorry 'bout the cover art, it's a bit messy.

moev - wanting 12" 1987

a syhth band based in canada, was founded in 1981 had a female vocal during their early carreer, been thru several changes in their line up and it wasn't until this single followed by capital heaven both from "yeah whatever" album that gave them a little bit of recognition  and i think it is safe to say that they made a small dent in world of synth. to me this is one of their best songs ever recorded. the file incl. extended, remix and a non-album cut.

daf - pure joy 12" 1986

daf, d.a.f. or deutsch amerikanische freundschaft however you wanna call it is not important this is synthpop with a swagger you dig! computer generated beats with drum machines is not bad considering the year the record was done. pure joy consists of repeated catchy synth riffs good enough to make anyone cut some rug.

fuel - songs in the key of e 12" 1991

two beautiful synth-driven pop songs from 'fuel', not to be confused with five other fuel bands out there maybe more. this, out on midnight music label is not to be ignored. it's a 4-song ep but i'm having issues with my audacity software and for what very little time i have, i managed to ripped two tracks from this ep.

shooting party - i go to pieces 12" 1989

this is my latest arrival on my trip to eagle rock last weekend. a synthpop group with a real nice dance beat to it and an erasure -like vocal. i could've swore i've heard this before i just don't have vivid memory of it. this is a 3 track 12incher that includes the instrumental and extended version. this, together with the fifth issue of debut mag that contains the song by a london based band "olympic smiles" was pretty much the highlight of the trip. i don't know if anyone would be interested, i might post the "something's pushing me" song later!!!

blitz - solar 12" 19??

this was an experiment i bought it despite knowing what they sound like. plus one thing that attracted me to this record is that i have never seen the record nor heard of the band and or their record label before! so i gave it a try, got home cued it up on my record player and to my surprise.. it's not bad! it's a two track single. both extended versions. they sound very minimal but also you can tell where they going to on the flip side, a little hint of industrial music to it. you know that constant but steady beating of the drum machine!! yeah kinda like that. anyway synth-lover would rather find this one useful.

security - total destruction 12" 1985

ok here's something for synthpoppers.... don't know much about this band. nor i know where they are from i just happen to came across this record while i was browsing thru my collection like i seldom do. i can't remember what interest me in purchasing it (a while back at that old rockaway record store). then i flipped the record and there.. it reminded me why. the b side is a pretty decent cover version of the song 'somebody' by one of the best synth god of almost four decades: depeche mode. real nice calming song to break away from the noise. ahhh..

random single of the month

this one is a classic nineties tune, with the likes of camouflage, red flag and some other pioneers of synth out hails the birth of celebrate the nun, didn't get much popularity in the usa or airplay for that matter... they gained honor on the dancefloor in clubs in the early nineties in europe! this one is taken from their 2nd and i believe their last full length release. whom i highly recommend for synthpop lovers, is a bit pricey on the net. i got my copy at amoeba records in los angeles, ca.

celebrate the nun - one more time...

moses - our revolution 12'' 1985

let's take a break here from indie overdose for a while. we got here a great club floorfilla. i think thats what they call it nowadays. they were from netherlands, and that's all i know about this band. so if you care to add pls. do so. with that being said, this 12'' record respectably earns a place in my record collection.

fake - brick 12'' 1985

fake discography, fake singles and albums. lots of fake 7''s and 12''s. this was/is considered to be the best swedish synthpop band produced in italy. and this single proves it undeniably!!! this has got to be their best song!!! although "right" is quite a classic as well!! grab one if you see one!
