manbreak were a short-lived 5 piece band from northern england that existed from 1996 thru 1998 and released just one full length album on one little indian and a couple of singles. the label aims to bring eclectic music and reached quite a success with bands such as the shamen and bjork.
just to let everyone know i still have a lot of nineties music coming out.

where the music is never too enigmatic for anorak pop, too heavyweight for tweepop, too sophisticated for c86, too sinful for madchester, too simple for indiepop, too complicated for new wave, too deep for postpunk and too precisely engineered for synthpop! it's indie done right.

carson - up and down 1999
a great band that i can't believe i totally missed out on when they came forth in the late nineties, 1997 if i'm not mistaken is when they released their debut single "nothing" and layed down the fundamentals of britpop. after that i was hooked! this is kasabian before kasabian, merged with rialto, seahorses and the kula shaker all in one. too bad there is not a single airwave station in los angeles that play these kinds of music anymore. i mean kroq used to be good back in the day and indie 103.1 disappeared in thin air faster than you can say enchilada. i guess this can only mean that i have new britpop favourite :).

adorable - vendetta cd5 1994
adorable toured the uk and the usa back in 1993 following the release of their independently acclaimed debut album on creation records, now defunct and has been for over decade. i was lucky enough to watched them play live at the whisky-a-go-go i think, with several of my loyal frenz. damn it was that long time ago huh..... anyway this a follow up single to their 2nd and last cd "fake" (before parting ways and calling it quits) which is just as good and dreamy as the first one. piotr fijalkowski later formed 'polak'. but this one is my all time fave from the band.

grass-show - out of the void cd5 1996
out of the void i believe is the band's fourth single. although they never made in the usa. i still think they are a pretty decent act. their music is britpop leaning towards the likes of supergrass, super furry animals and possibly menswear too. while alice takes you back to the sixties melody the aggressiveness of out of void gives an earful sound of pure britpop in the air.

the wonder stuff - don't let me down, gently cd5 1989
one of my personal favorite songs from the wonder stuff along with 'a wish away' and 'caught in my shadow', which are all pretty amazing singles. this song simply defines britpop to me... a semi aggressive pop tune with a really catchy melody and wonderful lyrics, an import cd that also has the extended version of the title song! after breaking up in 1994 releasing four studio albums they got together again in 2000 to perform in the uk, they recorded "escape from rubbish island" but without the two original line ups the album just doesn't sound the same old 'stuffies' except for the title track!! anyway here is one for the fans...
