the year was 1986, when dermot lambert, ellen leahy with the rest of the band recorded this exceptional single under the band's own empty shell label and was later released as rex & dino in 1987. so you think "the wee cherubs" 7" single is hard-to-find well this is a rare jewel, probably 494 times more scarce than that(and i can explain), if you think the mary onettes are one of the few new faces of dream pop... empty shell is pure bliss a total impression of dreammathuf***ingpop. and if you think the wild swans were awesome this quartet from dublin were just as and still is. man, this record is just about as rare as any out of print record out there!! i just have to say that this is a phenomenal 7". i just don't know how one band can pull something out so good and perfect like so! the first time i have heard the song it immediately became my favorite. it's just genuis....... the band was comprised of dermot lambert on vocals with ellen leahy on keyboards later became rex & dino but found more success as blink. nb, randy_b, mcdoo and goth_boy... you gotta listen to this!
so sorry about the crackles and pops, it's nineteeneightysix ya'know!
empty shell - if heavens waiting 7'' 1986...
