The Algoma Guardian entered the Duluth Shipping Canal just as a powerful storm crossed Duluth at 3:30AM Thursday 7/21/2016.
Winds at the Lift Bridge clocked over 80MPH.
The Algoma most certainly had a Guardian on board.
It's amazing that all the harborcams survived the storm.

Duluth 
i/dəˈluːθ/ is a seaport city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the county seat of Saint Louis County. Duluth has a population of 86,238 and is the second-largest city on Lake Superior's shores, after Thunder Bay, Ontario, on the lake's Canadian border; it does, however, have the largest metropolitan area on the lake. The Duluth MSA had a population of 279,771 in 2010, the second-largest in Minnesota. The combined urban population of Duluth and its adjacent communities – including Proctor, Hermantown, and Superior, Wisconsin – totals over 131,000, based on 2010 census figures.
Situated at the westernmost point of the Great Lakes on the north shore of Lake Superior, Duluth is accessible to oceangoing vessels from the Atlantic Ocean 2,300 miles (3,700 km) away via the Great Lakes Waterway and the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Lake Superior is the world's largest freshwater lake by surface area.
Duluth forms a metropolitan area with Superior called the Twin Ports. The cities share the Duluth–Superior harbor and together are the Great Lakes' largest port transporting coal, iron ore (taconite), and grain.

RV Travel & Van Traveling With Living Free As Tour Guide Of Duluth MN
In this RV living on the road full time we do some YouTuber collaboration pairing RV travel and Van traveling to Duluth, Minnesota. Mike of Living Free, Carolina and I head off together with plans for Enger tower and Duluth site seeing. The fog cover kept us from seeing all the great views of Duluth Minnesota from Enger Tower. Kind of like what happened tome when I drove 230 miles out of the way to see Devils Tower. Oh well we still had lots of fun and i am sure will have other opportunities to enjoy Enger Tower. Plus the park itself was gorgeous. We all hope you enjoy this RV travel and van travelling video. My North Shore Camping Trip / Duluth Minnesota / Travel MN
The family and I went on one of our annual camping trips up on the North Shore of Lake Superior near Duluth. We went hiking on the trails at Gooseberry Falls, took in the scenery of waterfalls and bluffs, and had a swim in the river. Then at night we went back to our campsite and enjoyed some good food and a bonfire before we tucked into our tents. In this RV living on the road full time we do some YouTuber collaboration pairing RV travel and Van traveling to Duluth, Minnesota. Mike of Living Free, Carolina and I head off together with plans for Enger tower and Duluth site seeing.
The fog cover kept us from seeing all the great views of Duluth Minnesota from Enger Tower. Kind of like what happened tome when I drove 230 miles out of the way to see Devils Tower. Oh well we still had lots of fun and i am sure will have other opportunities to enjoy Enger Tower. Plus the park itself was gorgeous.
We all hope you enjoy this RV travel and van travelling video. It was fun to make and will be fond memories of our RV living on the road full time days.

Gwinnett County Fire officials confirm five people were killed in a house fire in Duluth early Sunday morning. The home was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene in the 2200 block of Post Oak Drive, officials said. "It was so bad firefighters couldn't go inside the home. They initially had to fight the fire from outside," said Captain Tommy Rutledge with the Gwinnett County Fire Department. Gwinnett County Fire officials confirm five people were killed in a house fire in Duluth early Sunday morning.
The home was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene in the 2200 block of Post Oak Drive, officials said.
"It was so bad firefighters couldn't go inside the home. They initially had to fight the fire from outside," said Captain Tommy Rutledge with the Gwinnett County Fire Department.
A neighbor reported the fire just before 3:30 a.m.
"It was a pretty intense fire even at the time of the 911 call," Rutledge said
According to Rutledge, firefighters were able to control the fire around 4:11 a.m. Rutledge said once firefighters were able to go in the home, they found three people dead. They could not, however, search the entire house until they reinforced the structure of the home.
Gwinnett County Fire investigators discovered two more deceased victims inside the home Sunday afternoon.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office took possession of the victims' bodies and will determine their exact cause of death as well as confirm their identities. According to fire investigators, the victims were all adults and included three women and two men. Firefighters also found the remains of a dog and a cat inside the house.
"It's so unreal," said Jessica Fields, who lives next door to the house. "Every day you see them passing by. To no longer be able to see them anymore, it's a traumatic event. I feel for that family."
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials said the blaze appears to have originated in th area of the back deck.
A neighbor said that the people who live at the home had a bonfire on the deck Saturday night and investigators have not ruled that out as the cause of fire.
