A Dallas police officer shot and killed a kidnapping suspect on Monday after police say the suspect pointed a gun at an officer.

One PERSON is dead after a possible drunken driving crash involving six cars in far east Dallas.
It began around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesquite police were chasing a JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE listed as a stolen vehicle out of Dallas.
The suspect eventually ran a red light at Ferguson Road and Maylee Boulevard and HIT five other cars.
One person was killed in a CAR and another car erupted in flames.
“I saw a ball of fire and a van coming towards me as I'm parked at the pump. And the fan pushed my car into the gas pump and pinned me in the car. I had to be rescued by my husband and pulled through the back of the car,” said Cori White, who was involved in the crash.
The suspect in the Jeep was ejected from the vehicle after the crash.
He was IDENTIFIED as 27-year-old Jarron Williams and is currently listed in critical condition at the hospital. Police plan to charge him with murder if he survives.
The person he killed was identified as 58-year-old Stephen Fox.

HOUSTON, TEXAS (KTRK) -- A man who led police on a high speed chase and pretended to have a child in the car with him was shot to death as the chase came to a crashing end.
During the chase, deputies said the driver called 911 to say that he had a child in the vehicle and threatened to harm the child if officers attempted to pull him over.
The pursuit began at about 10:40am when the driver of a blue Chrysler 300 fled during a traffic stop. After several minutes of a high speed pursuit, during which the driver eluded police by going around patrol cars and driving into the grass, the chase came to a crashing halt. The suspect slammed into another vehicle at an intersection on Wallisville at Castlegory, then spun into another vehicle.
At that point the driver got out of the car and as he reached back inside the vehicle, officers opened fire, fatally striking him. Police say 10 to 12 shots were fired.
"He was given commands to show his hands and come out of the vehicle," said Thomas Gilliland, spokesperson for Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The man killed has been identified as Frank Ernest Shepherd, III. Police say he was alone in the car the entire time. Shepherd's claim of a child in the car was false.
Family members at the scene say Shepherd is 41 years old and is the father of three, with another child on the way.

Two people in the vehicles struck during the crash at the end of the chase suffered injuries. A man was checked out at the scene for minor injuries, and a young woman was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
The end of the pursuit unfolded quickly, with only a matter of seconds elapsing between the time the suspect struck the white car and the time officers opened fire. HPD spokesperson John Cannon says two of the officers involved in the chase have been on the force for six years. He identified them as R Gonzales and L Engle. He didn't elaborate on the nature of their involvement. It's not yet known if they were wearing body cameras.
The chase ended near North Shore Middle School. According to Galena Park ISD officials, Havard Elementary School and North Shore Middle School were placed on 'lockout' status. Classes continued as scheduled, but with no one allowed in or out of the building, in an effort to shield students from the police activity.
The investigation is ongoing.

She and Stephen lived together for years after Stephen suffered an aneurism. The last time she heard from him was around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
“I'll always remember how good he was to me,” she said.
Police were back at the crash scene Wednesday as they continued to collect evidence.
“We see nothing at this point that would make us think we violated any of our policies,” said Sgt. Joe Smith with the Mesquite Police Department.

Police arrived, broke up the fight and took the man into custody.
“I saw him come up from behind and hit me. I turned around and asked my son if he was OK, and he said ‘yeah,’” said Liesmann. “I jumped out and was like ‘what the hell’s wrong with you? You’re in a school zone!’ He didn’t say anything. I was just angry.”
“My mom did put him in his place,” T.J. said. “I’m glad he is in jail because to be honest when I was in the car, I thought I died.”
T.J. was taken to the hospital but is expected to be fine. (full video footage)

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday identified the suspect shot and wounded during a gun battle with deputies the previous day.
Hector Javier Puga, 26, remained hospitalized in fair condition, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.
Puga had allegedly pointed a gun at deputies before being shot following a dangerous pursuit through South Los Angeles residential streets late Friday afternoon.
After being hit in the upper torso by gunfire, Puga walked toward a nearby residence and collapsed on the front porch, his white-T-shirt stained with blood, aerial video showed.
About an hour later, he surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody without further incident, according to the release.
The Sheriff’s Department later said that Puga had been wanted in connection with a March 8 kidnapping in which he was accused of forcing his wife into a vehicle at gunpoint in the city of Paramount, officials said.
The woman managed to escape after he stopped at her’s mother’s house so she could use the bathroom, according to the release.
Deputies saw Puga’s vehicle Friday and began pursuing him after he failed to stop, the release stated.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing, the department said.

Denton County sheriff's deputies chased a suspect on southbound Interstate 35E into Dallas Monday afternoon. The pursuit reached speeds of about 80 to 90 miles per hour.
Even after the suspect's tires were spiked, he was still going about 65 mph.
His car eventually stopped just north of Interstate 635. Police with their guns drawn and K-9 officers immediately forced him out of the car and onto the ground.It is not yet clear what prompted the chase.

POSTED 4:36 PM, MARCH 14, 2015, BY KTLA The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday identified the suspect shot and wounded during a gun battle with deputies the previous day. Hector Javier Puga, 26, remained hospitalized in fair condition, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release. Puga had allegedly pointed a gun at deputies before being shot following a dangerous pursuit through South Los Angeles residential streets late Friday afternoon. After being hit in the upper torso by gunfire, Puga walked toward a nearby residence and collapsed on the front porch, his white-T-shirt stained with blood, aerial video showed. About an hour later, he surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody without further incident, according to the release. The Sheriff’s Department later said that Puga had been wanted in connection with a March 8 kidnapping in which he was accused of forcing his wife into a vehicle at gunpoint in the city of Paramount, officials said. The woman managed to escape after he stopped at her’s mother’s house so she could use the bathroom, according to the release. Deputies saw Puga’s vehicle Friday and began pursuing him after he failed to stop, the release stated. An investigation into the incident was ongoing, the department said. -

The pursuit reached speeds of about 80 to 90 miles per hour. Even after the suspect's tires were spiked, he was still going about 65 mph. His car eventually stopped just north of Interstate 635. Police with their guns drawn and K-9 officers immediately forced him out of the car and onto the ground.It is not yet clear what prompted the chase.

At that point the driver got out of the car and as he reached back inside the vehicle, officers opened fire, fatally striking him. Police say 10 to 12 shots were fired.
"He was given commands to show his hands and come out of the vehicle," said Thomas Gilliland, spokesperson for Harris County Sheriff's Office.

HPD spokesperson John Cannon says two of the officers involved in the chase have been on the force for six years. He identified them as R Gonzales and L Engle. He didn't elaborate on the nature of their involvement. It's not yet known if they were wearing body cameras.
The chase ended near North Shore Middle School. According to Galena Park ISD officials, Havard Elementary School and North Shore Middle School were placed on 'lockout' status. Classes continued as scheduled, but with no one allowed in or out of the building, in an effort to shield students from the police activity.
The investigation is ongoing.

HOUSTON, TEXAS (KTRK) -- A man who led police on a high speed chase and pretended to have a child in the car with him was shot to death as the chase came to a crashing end.
During the chase, deputies said the driver called 911 to say that he had a child in the vehicle and threatened to harm the child if officers attempted to pull him over.
The pursuit began at about 10:40am when the driver of a blue Chrysler 300 fled during a traffic stop. After several minutes of a high speed pursuit, during which the driver eluded police by going around patrol cars and driving into the grass, the chase came to a crashing halt. The suspect slammed into another vehicle at an intersection on Wallisville at Castlegory, then spun into another vehicle.
At that point the driver got out of the car and as he reached back inside the vehicle, officers opened fire, fatally striking him. Police say 10 to 12 shots were fired.
"He was given commands to show his hands and come out of the vehicle," said Thomas Gilliland, spokesperson for Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Surveillance video from a convenience store at Ferguson and Shiloh roads in Dallas shows the deadly chain reaction crash.
The suspect driving the Jeep, 27-year-old Jarron Williams, was ejected from the Jeep after the crash.
Williams and is currently listed in critical condition at the hospital. Police plan to charge him with murder if he survives.
Williams has a long list of prior convictions for crimes that include car thefts and evading arrest.
“I saw the news about it last night, and I thought, ‘Well that sure is close to home,' and after he didn't show up, that's when I called the hospitals,” said Stephen Fox's mother, Virginia.
She and Stephen lived together for years after Stephen suffered an aneurism. The last time she heard from him was around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Police chased the car Wednesday afternoon in North Dallas until the driver hit an SUV and a minivan at a stop light.
The woman driving the minivan, Jessica Liesmann, jumped out and rushed the suspect as he tried to get out of the car. Then, she and another person fought the suspect when he tried to run away.
Police arrived, broke up the fight and took the man into custody.
“I saw him come up from behind and hit me. I turned around and asked my son if he was OK, and he said ‘yeah,’” said Liesmann. “I jumped out and was like ‘what the hell’s wrong with you? You’re in a school zone!’ He didn’t say anything. I was just angry.”
“My mom did put him in his place,” T.J. said. “I’m glad he is in jail because to be honest when I was in the car, I thought I died.”
T.J. was taken to the hospital but is expected to be fine. (full video footage)

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday identified the suspect shot and wounded during a gun battle with deputies the previous day.
Hector Javier Puga, 26, remained hospitalized in fair condition, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.
Puga had allegedly pointed a gun at deputies before being shot following a dangerous pursuit through South Los Angeles residential streets late Friday afternoon.
After being hit in the upper torso by gunfire, Puga walked toward a nearby residence and collapsed on the front porch, his white-T-shirt stained with blood, aerial video showed.
About an hour later, he surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody without further incident, according to the release.
The Sheriff’s Department later said that Puga had been wanted in connection with a March 8 kidnapping in which he was accused of forcing his wife into a vehicle at gunpoint in the city of Paramount, officials said.
The woman managed to escape after he stopped at her’s mother’s house so she could use the bathroom, according to the release.
Deputies saw Puga’s vehicle Friday and began pursuing him after he failed to stop, the release stated.

Denton County sheriff's deputies chased a suspect on southbound Interstate 35E into Dallas Monday afternoon. The pursuit reached speeds of about 80 to 90 miles per hour.
Even after the suspect's tires were spiked, he was still going about 65 mph.
His car eventually stopped just north of Interstate 635. Police with their guns drawn and K-9 officers immediately forced him out of the car and onto the ground.It is not yet clear what prompted the chase.

Hello Everyone!! It has been so long since I have uploaded a video! I decided to vlog my trip over July 4 weekend and do something different on this channel; therefore here is my very first vlog it is something different and something I have not done before on here! I hope you all enjoy this video during my trip in Dallas, TX! This trip was short but sweet! Here are the things I did while I was there, FYI I stayed at the Le Méridien hotel across from the Galleria Mall. The second shooting may only have been fictional but, when J R Ewing was shot by an unknown killer in the TV series Dallas in the early 1980s, fans across the world were devastated. Even today, the legend of J R remains strong, as does the legacy of President Kennedy.
Today the city is a mecca for the banking, electronics and oil industries, as well as for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Large scale developments of urban lofts, apartments, condominiums, retail and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are springing up across the city. An impressive new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2009 to vie with New York's Lincoln Center. New facilities and relevant attractions in and around this cultural centre continue to grow.
Among things you probably didn't know about Dallas: The city has the largest urban arts district in the United States spanning 19 blocks. What's more, the Dallas Arts District has more buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects in one contiguous location than anywhere else in the world. And Dallas' Fair Park, just a short distance east of the arts district and a district with numerous museums and venues, features the nation's largest collection of 1930s Art Deco, exposition-style architecture.
Dallas offers true Southern hospitality, be it in a humble hideaway cocktail bar or in the Mansion on Turtle Creek, repeatedly and regularly ranked as one of the world's top hotels. And with a 10th of its workforce in the hospitality industry, Dallas is always happy to have y'all come on in and stick around awhile.
Those wishing to explore further afield should take the busy freeway 30 miles to the west to the easy-going, cattle-driving, twin city of Fort Worth, home to a national historic district and a surprising stash of world-class art museums.
The similarities between the two include a stunning rate of business and population growth, in spite of a sluggish recent economy; a shared passion for the pro sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, whose new billion-dollar stadium is now in Tarrant County instead of Dallas; and a great pride in being Texan.

EL CAJON - August 21, 2011 - An El Cajon Police officer is shot right in front of a news camera. The entire incident is caught on camera including the shots fired, officer rescue, SWAT standoff, house fire, helicopter water drops and more. The suspect, Kevin Collier, shot his 1-year old daughter and his mother-in-law. Police arrived and surrounded the home (including our photog). Officers were then met with gunfire from the suspect who had a rifle. Officer Jarred Slocum was leaning over the bed of a pickup truck with only his head exposed. The suspect, Kevin Collier, shot his 1-year old daughter and his mother-in-law. Police arrived and surrounded the home (including our photog). Officers were then met with gunfire from the suspect who had a rifle. Officer Jarred Slocum was leaning over the bed of a pickup truck with only his head exposed. He was struck in the left temple and the bullet exited the rear of his skull. He was NOT shot in the neck, as it appears and was initially perceived in the heat of the moment. The suspect then set the house on fire before shooting himself. The fire department could not approach the home because officers could not confirm if the suspect was dead or not. Firefighters are not going to walk up to a home with the possibility of a man inside with a rifle. Officers requested Mercy Air for transport, but instead took the wounded officer by ground in a patrol car as it would be quicker. This was on a dead-end street, so the rescue of having to pass the line of fire was incredibly risky. A gas line explodes at one point (bluish smoke). SWAT set up and worked with the fire department to help slow the rate of spread of the fire. Two helicopters began water drops, which is unheard of for a structure fire, but it was the most practical and safest way to control the flames. Officer Slocum is doing well but has decided to "medically retire" from the El Cajon Police Department, move, and go back to college. The officer who was with him, Officer Tim McFarland, was a rookie at the time and was being trained by Slocum. Officer Slocum's wound, although very serious, had very very little blood loss. So for those appauled that none of us applied pressure, quite frankly it wasn't necessary and it's easy to judge what one would do while sitting behind a computer. The bigger threat was the active shooter vs only a handful of officers. And for all you anti-cop commenters, keep in mind, officers are still people with families. The people in this video are heroes who were up against a crazed man set on death and destruction.

* The officer was shot in the left temple, not the neck. Period. I was there. I shot the video. It looks like he was shot in the neck, but he was in shock and holding the wrong area. Jessica Liesmann, who was driving the minivan and her husband showed courage and helped to arrest a suspect in the theft.
Artrai Alexander, Age 40, he will be charged with Grand theft auto and evading arrest.

History as it happened. In Part One we hear radio station KLIF begin its coverage of president John F. Kennedy's visit to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
The president's plane is greeted at Love Field. Following live coverage of the airport arrival is the Noon News.
Then we join the Rex Jones show on in progress on Part Two. Mid-way through "I Have a Boyfriend" by the Chiffons, we hear the first bulletin of a shooting in President Kennedy's motorcade. Slowly, KLIF's happy-go-lucky sound is replaced with a more somber approach, with wall-t-wall coverage of the shooting eventually replacing the music format. Part Two ends with the flash: The president is dead.
Part Three covers the immediate aftermath of the assassination and the hunt for the suspect. Reaction begins to pour in to Dallas from around the world.

John Hurt (Kane) and Ian Holm (Ash) however won't return to reprise their roles but Ash will still be featured in the game, instead being voiced by another voice actor. The first pre-order mission, "Crew Expendable", takes place moments after the death of Brett, it sees players assuming the role of Ripley, Dallas or Parker, as the crew of the Nostromo attempt to flush the Alien from the air vents and into the ship’s airlock. Depending on which character the player chooses, the game will have a slightly different perspective on events and will begin with different resources.
