Microdata access is priced in accordance with ABS pricing policy and Commonwealth Cost Recovery Guidelines.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are provided by grouping relevant datasets into data series. By subscribing, you will receive all available datasets within a data series. When new datasets are released to data series you have subscribed to, all of your organisation's users can immediately have access on the day of release. New members of your organisation can also register and join at any time.

The subscription price charged depends on the time of year that the subscription is taken up. See the Full year and partial year subscriptions table at the end of this page.

How to apply

You can add data series to your organisation's annual subscription at any time of year. Once you have applied, an invoice will be emailed to the organisation following approval by ABS of the microdata application. Staff and students of universities participating in the ABS/Universities Australia Agreement will not be invoiced for products and services covered under the agreement. This is because Universities Australia has paid for access on behalf of participating universities.

Individuals not associated with an organisation can also subscribe to microdata services. Contact microdata.access@abs.gov.au for prices and further information.
