The crime issue hit home to me with the last South African I spoke to. She said a decisive moment for her was when she was forced to the ground during a robbery and had an AK47 pointed at her head. I said to her that I had heard of some terrible things done to white farmers in South Africa, and she told me that it wasn't just a farm issue but was happening in the cities as well. She thought that it was now foolish for white people to remain in South Africa if they had the opportunity to leave (her family had to give up a lot of money to get here). She expressed some sadness at witnessing Australia heading down the same path as South Africa (I think she was referring to the carjackings and home invasions being carried out by the Apex gang). She said it was difficult as someone who had seen her own country become unliveable to observe another country heading down the same path.
I think that we as Australians take a lot for granted. It is a very basic freedom to be able to live without fear of violent attack in your daily life. Another white South African who moved to Australia wrote of his decision that:
I am grateful to my Father in heaven for the chance to leave. I will not throw stones when asked by people about my former country, but I will be candid about the facts.
It is indeed, Cry The Beloved Country. I sleep now with open windows; don’t worry about the guy selling a paper at the traffic light (robot) or the lights behind me on the way home. SA citizens, you are going to have to stand up and demand accountability. Call me what you wish, but I am happier now than I have been in 20 years.
My children have a genuine shot at goals. To those who choose to remain and those who cannot leave, I salute you.
For this (former) South African it is a great blessing simply to be able to sleep with open windows. Or not to worry when the traffic lights turn red.
Liberals do not seem to realise that in holding to an ideal of "equal freedom" by which everyone is supposed to have the right to migrate to the West regardless of the likelihood of assimilating or upholding a law-abiding culture, important personal freedoms are likely to be lost, as has happened in South Africa. To live in a more traditional society in which you can move freely and with security is a greater freedom than to have open borders and to have to barricade yourself in your home or your car.
The second reality of life for white South Africans is quotas. One of the South Africans I spoke to said that the decisive moment for him in choosing to leave his country was getting a job and observing the older and experienced white males being passed over for promotion because of the quota system in South Africa in which white males get put last. He realised that he had little chance for career advancement in South Africa, and that his children would also face the same penalties (he also explained something about white business operators having to accept majority black ownership of the company in order to receive government contracts, but I'm not sure about the details of this).
The point to be made is that it is possible to lose your country in the sense that it is no longer a place that is safe for you or that offers you normal opportunities for work or education. This is the reality for white South Africans. Some are choosing to tough it out, some are leaving and coming to places like Australia. We do need to try to preserve, for our own populations, what we have and not take it for granted.

ReplyDeleteThe problem is that they do realise it. To them it's a feature, not a bug.
For our own Ethnic groups. Nations MUST have their own separate territory.
ReplyDeleteWhite Nationalism and White nations: the controversial idea that Whites should continue to exist.
1.White people exist.
2. White people have the RIGHT to exist.
3. White people have the RIGHT to exist AS White people in White Communities and Nations.
It's worth pointing out that white South Africans chose suicide by voting for black majority rule. They spent several centuries building a nation - a nation with nuclear weapons and a space program - and they just gave it away.
ReplyDeleteWell, yes, white South Africans chose suicide by voting for black majority rule. That said, I think the rest of the white world's determination to force that end upon them via crushing economic sanctions and general exclusion to the pettiest extent ("no, you can't play rugby with us) may have had something to do with it.
DeleteAlso, from where I sit, every white nation, Australia included, is choosing suicide by failing to reproduce (not one white nation's birthrate is above replacement level) and by allowing mass non-white immigration into our countries.
And yes, the majority of us vote for the politicians who support these open door immigration policies.
Last I checked, there were no sanctions on any of us, nor were any of us excluded from the wider white community.
So what's our excuse?
The West more or less told the Afrikaners that if they did not surrender, the result would be genocide.
DeleteIf you choose to reject CultMarx, you run the risk of social sanctions. If you organize against it, you will be targeted by leftist NGOs and FBI/MI5 (not sure what its called in Australia).
The threat of:
Employment blacklist
Bankruptcy
Divorce
Antifa violence
Human Rights Commission sanctions
While those threats don't include prison, except in the UK for now, and they aren't yet at the stage of death squads; it certainly asks a lot of Joe Conservative to risk. It's too much for me to ever write anything under my real name.
Free speech is an illusion, conservatives have long criticized government as being inefficient vs the private sector. But if the private sector is stronger, why are we letting it go without checks and balances other than "muh free market". That is where the majority of the left's power is coming from.
Apartheid wasn't an option into the 21st century. The country was becoming ungovernable from the mid 80s and the political unrest was gathering an unstoppable momentum. You cannot put up a picket fence against the tide. Mandela was very magnanimous to his former jailers. There was a lot of hope, forgiveness, good will and optimism in 1992. You can't blame the white community for negotiating in good faith - especially after years of sanctions and pariah status. Not the least of which came from other former British settler countries like Austtalia who showed no solidarity whatever with their fellow Europeans who - unlike them - simply happened to be a numerical minority. If you want to accuse white South Africans of committing national suicide you can thank the rest of the west for fhelpinf bring them to their knees. Unfortunately after the sunset clauses in the new constitution expired, South Africa started slipping into the same sad, sorry chaos that bedevils much of the rest of the continent.

DeleteThat's true enough. Australia's role was shameful indeed. One expects the British and the Americans to be treacherous and hypocritical but it was sad to see Australia joining in.
On the other hand I find it incomprehensible that anyone could have believed that black majority rule would end well, or that a terrorist organisation like the ANC could ever be trusted (or a terrorist like Mandela).
If you want to understand the real Mandela, research the speech he gave in Havana after being released. It was quite galling to see the man portrayed as a humanitarian, glorifying the death of his own country's conscript soldiers, for simply being white.
DeleteOnly Hanoi Jane comes close, but she was never president, only the mistress of the old CNN boss Ted Turner.
As someone who was present in South Africa during the 80s and early 90s the straw that broke the back of the Apartheid camel was the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Growing up in SA, the main concerns of the white minority Government at the time were 1. "Swart Gevaar" (Black Danger) but also 2. "Rooi Gevaar". (Red Danger). There were Cubans in Angloa, the black regimes in the rest of Southern Africa (Zimbabwe, Mocambique etc) were aligned to Moscow and there was a very tangible fear that black majority rule would lead to Communism in South Africa.
DeleteWhen the Berlin wall came crashing down, it is my belief that it was a critical moment for the key decision makers in the SA Govt to try to negotiate with the ANC (who had a strategic alliance with the SA Communists). Mandela was known as black nationalist, but not a commie.
None of this mattered of course to the chardonnay socialists sitting in Sydney and Melbourne, London, New York, Vancouver etc as they stepped up the economic and cultural boycotts. None of their livelihoods, businesses and assets were under any threat. So they could be as self-righteous as they desired about Apartheid as they watched the whole thing unfold from the safety of their arm chairs.

One blogger I follow is the one who calls himself Oz Conservative. He’s very much on my wavelength, or I’m on his.
Well, reading Oz Conservative the other day I caught a reference to the Apex gang, which I’d quite forgottenapexgang about.
Speaking of taking things for granted, how about the possibility that the combination of leftist authoritarianism and general chaos within liberal societies could be causing young people to reject the core values of liberal Western societies:

ReplyDeleteI know at least three guys who moved their families over here for one or both of those reasons.
ReplyDeleteInteresting thing one of them told me is that houses over there are actually designed with a locked hallway to separate the bedrooms from the rest of the house: a kind of unwritten agreement with potential robbers that if you break into my house, you can have my stuff, just don't hurt my family.
People don't like to bring that little bit of information up.
What happened to your blog between October 2014 and October 2015? I just now discovered that you are back.
ReplyDeleteI was dealing with some serious personal issues.
DeleteCould it be that Australia's bad experiences of poor assimilation starting with the Lebanese as the worst because biggest (not forgetting that Tony Mokbel's uncle was Maronite priest) has just about created immunity to major folly. The smart Chinese and Indians are much less likely to change civilised Australia for the worse than the miscellaneous white dregs still heavily outbreeding the smart educated taxlayers.
