Blondie and Cyndi Lauper are touring Australia together

BLONDIE and Cyndi Lauper will embark on a joint headline tour of Australia in April.

It will be the first time the two acts have shared a stage and each night will alternate who closes the show.

Blondie singer Debbie Harry said she seized the opportunity.

“Australia has been great for Cyndi and Blondie, now Blondie and Cyndi are going to be invading Australia together,” she said.

“I’m so excited to work with Blondie,” Lauper said. “I’ve toured with Debbie, but never Blondie. Debbie is and was always a trailblazer. She made the trail for us to follow her. It lead the way for me and many others to come. To tour with Blondie in Australia for me is awesome, it’s such an honour to work with Blondie.”

The artists hope they may be able to work together on stage as well as performing separate sets.

The tour will be based around outdoor shows for A Day on the Green, with indoor shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
