2015 has been a banner year for Marc Stone.
A new record deal, nomination for Best Blues
Artist for the Best of the Beat Awards, two
tours in Europe and one in the US, and a slew
of high profile shows and club sets at home,
the return of Marc’s All-Star Louisiana Blues
Throwdown and guest appearances with Walter”Wolfman”
Washington, Marcia Ball, Leftover Salmon with
Bill Payne and Col. Bruce Hampton, Honey Island
Swamp Band, as well as the formation of a new
duo with Delta slide master John Mooney. e’s
back in the Crescent City with a full slate
of great shows for the fall, but the big news
of the year is the release of his Louisiana
Red Hot Records debut, Poison & Medicine.
Featuring the Bonerama Horns, Mike Dillon,
members of Galactic, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band,
Honey Island Swamp Band and the Honeypots along
with Blues masters Benny Turner and Big Al Carson,
with some magic production touches courtesy
of Papa Mali, Poison & Medicine is a fresh
take on the Roots sound of the contemporary
New Orleans scene that OffBeat Magazine calls
“A watershed moment in Stone’s career”.
