The London Borough of Haringey i/ˈhærɪŋɡeɪ/ is a London borough, north London, classified by some definitions as part of Inner London, and by others as part of Outer London. It was created in 1965 by the amalgamation of three former boroughs. It shares borders with six other London boroughs. Clockwise from the north, they are: Enfield, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Islington, Camden, and Barnet.
Haringey covers an area of more than 11 square miles (28.5 km2). Some of the more familiar local landmarks include Alexandra Palace, Bruce Castle, Jacksons Lane, Highpoint I and II, and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. The borough has extreme contrasts: areas in the west, such as Highgate, Muswell Hill and Crouch End are among the most prosperous in the country; in the east of the borough, some wards are classified as being among the most deprived 10% in the country. Haringey is also a borough of contrasts geographically. From the wooded high ground around Highgate and Muswell Hill, at 426.5 feet (130.0 m), the land falls sharply away to the flat, open low-lying land beside the River Lea in the east. The borough includes large areas of green space, which make up more than 25% of its total area.

Losing Haringey grabs you instantly as you realize that this is hardly a song, but a story. The narrative is told in speaking voice over a beautiful Clientele soundscape, punctuated periodically with a wordless la-la chorus. The background music alone is phenomenal, but the star of this song is the story. I cant think of many other bands that have done the combination of speaking and music quite so well, and when I do think of them, theyre usually terrific tracks. The Clientele might be onto a great trend - I would love to listen to more songs arranged like this. The freedom from a lyrical chorus and the greater volume of words makes this a very appealing forum for new prose. The full lyric is included below. It tells of a poor young man wandering the streets until he find himself sitti...

The Secretary of State for Education Mr Michael Gove is forcing four London borough of Haringey primary schools to become academies. Two of the schools have already accepted academy status, but one of the remaining two has fought on against the plans by the DfE (Department for Education). Teachers from Downhills primary school have staged two strikes and parents of pupils have continued to oppose Michael Gove's threat. Michael Gove says these schools have been under-performing, but teachers and parents strongly disagree, stating that the schools performance has actually been improving.
