Yarra Ranges police nab three meth drivers in six hours

THREE drivers have tested positive to roadside drug tests in six hours, with one man nabbed by police twice in two hours in Melbourne’s outer east.

Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol recorded four drug tests positive for methamphetamines and MDMA, with the first driver, a 39-year-old Ringwood man, intercepted at 2.45pm

A Croydon man, 23, tested positive at 3.29pm and did not have his licence on him and had failed to display P-plates or have a required interlock fitted to the car.

At 6.33pm, a Croydon man, 54, was intercepted after failing to obey a red arrow and recorded a positive drug test, before he was again detected speeding in Chirnside Park at 8.56pm.

The man underwent a second drug test, which also returned a positive result.

All drivers will be charged on summons with a range of traffic offences, with the third motorist to be charged with disobeying a lawful direction by a member of the police.
