Police hunt gang after attack in Doncaster shopping centre

POLICE are searching for a group of nine thugs who assaulted two teenage boys in a Doncaster shopping centre.

Manningham CIU is investigating after the two boys aged 17 and 14 received minor injuries after being pushed to the ground and kicked multiple times by a group of young men in the centre at 5.40pm on Friday, October 14.

Police have released CCTV images of nine people they think can help with their inquiries.

Manningham CIU Detective Rod Church said nothing was stolen from the two boys and he didn’t believe the gang posed an ongoing safety concern.

“At this stage we don’t believe the victims and suspects are connected in any way, but we haven’t received any further information to suggest there’s a threat to the public,” he said.

“We believe the nine suspects are predominantly of Asian appearance,” he said.

Detective Church urged anyone who witnessed the incident or recognised any of the suspects to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
