The Nasir ol Molk Mosque also known as the Pink Mosque is a famous mosque in Shiraz Iran. The mosque includes extensive colored glass in its facade. It is named in popular culture as the Pink Mosque, due to the usage of considerable pink color tiles in its interior design. On the day I visited, the mosque was empty apart from a lone visitor in black Iranian robes. Photo: Michael Hing -
Organised chaos or a picture of symmetry docking at the markets on Inle Lake. We visited Myanmar in January 2016. The Inle Lake area is such a fascinating place to explore. The markets are a great meeting place. Photo: Margaret Huxley -
While travelling in southern Italy last year we stayed a couple of nights in Matera. These somewhat ordinary building facades are the entrances to cave dwellings in the old 'Sassi' part of the town. Staying in a cave B&B;, and sipping our aperativi at a cave bar were a real highlight of our trip. Photo: Rob Morgan -
Dateline: Hanoi - Long Bien Markets Early start for this market in pre dawn light, this is when all the action happens here. I love the lights, movement & the framing of this shot taken through the railings of Long Bien Bridge which was rebuilt frequently after bombings during the Vietnam War. Hiking around the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands before dawn. The light bouncing off the snow was stunning and the sounds of the forest were hypnotizing. Can't wait to get back to this amazing part of the world! Photo: Luke Marriott -
Having spent a month traveling through Morocco, we thought we had seen everything this amazing country had to offer. Yet, we had not seen it all until we stumbled upon the amazing Cascade D'ouzoud. An oasis in the forest, these spectacular waterfalls depict the utter beauty of Morocco in a way many tourists would not expect. Photo: Luke Marriott -
Wildebeeste silhouetted at sunset in the Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya. They are probably the most common animal in East Africa, migrating in their hundreds of thousands in a never-ending search for fresh grasses, but this evocative scene caught my attention on the way back to camp from the day's game drive. The dunes of the Sahara lit up under a million stars. Earlier this year, my girlfriend and I spent a couple of nights in the Sahara Desert, Morocco. I will never forget the utter serenity of this place. You could hear your heart beating in your chest, watching the shooting stars flying over head. Photo: Luke Marriott -
Seeing the carefully contoured terrain of the Arboretum in Canberra brought back memories of the rice terraces in my hometown, The Philippines. Photo: Alan Coligado -
