Prince of Wales (Welsh: Tywysog Cymru) was a title granted to princes born in Wales from the 12th century onwards; the term replaced the use of the word king. One of the last Welsh princes, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, was killed in battle in 1282 by Edward I, king of England, whose son Edward, born in Caernarfon Castle, was invested as Prince of Wales: the first English person to claim the title.
Since the 13th century, the title is granted to the heir apparent to the English or British monarch, but the failure to be granted the title does not affect the rights to royal succession. The title is granted to the royal heir apparent as a personal honour or dignity, and the title is not heritable, merging with the Crown on accession to the throne. The title Earl of Chester is always given in conjunction with that of Prince of Wales. The Prince of Wales usually has other titles and honours.
The current Prince of Wales is Prince Charles, the eldest son of Elizabeth II, who is Queen of the United Kingdom and 15 other independent Commonwealth realms as well as Head of the 53-member Commonwealth of Nations. The wife of the Prince of Wales is entitled to the title Princess of Wales. Prince Charles' first wife, Diana, used that title but his second wife, Camilla, uses only the title Duchess of Cornwall because the other title has become so popularly associated with Diana.
Wales (i/ˈweɪlz/; Welsh: Cymru [ˈkəm.rɨ]) is a country that is part of the United Kingdom and the island of Great Britain, bordered by England to its east, the Irish Sea to its north and west, and the Bristol Channel to its south. It had a population in 2011 of 3,063,456 and has a total area of 20,779 km2 (8,023 sq mi). Wales has over 1,680 miles (2,700 km) of coastline and is largely mountainous, with its higher peaks in the north and central areas, including Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), its highest summit. The country lies within the north temperate zone and has a changeable, maritime climate.
Welsh national identity emerged among the Celtic Britons after the Roman withdrawal from Britain in the 5th century, and Wales is regarded as one of the modern Celtic nations. Llywelyn ap Gruffudd's death in 1282 marked the completion of Edward I of England's conquest of Wales, though Owain Glyndŵr briefly restored independence to what was to become modern Wales, in the early 15th century. The whole of Wales was annexed by England and incorporated within the English legal system under the Laws in Wales Acts 1535–1542. Distinctive Welsh politics developed in the 19th century. Welsh Liberalism, exemplified in the early 20th century by Lloyd George, was displaced by the growth of socialism and the Labour Party. Welsh national feeling grew over the century; Plaid Cymru was formed in 1925 and the Welsh Language Society in 1962. Established under the Government of Wales Act 1998, the National Assembly for Wales holds responsibility for a range of devolved policy matters.

TRH greet The Prince of Wales upon his arrival to the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Invictus Games. | September 10, 2014. Disclaimer: Not my video.
The Prince of Wales arranges a concert to expose King George III's instability. The most prominent effect of King George III's illness was his inability to internalize his thoughts, which is focused on during this scene. I personally enjoy the Soliloquy Nigel Hawthorne speaks when he laments about the loss of the Americas. It truly seems to be something that haunts the King.

Archaeologists admit that they've been looking for clues in the wrong place for almost 100 years. For the longest time the huge stone slabs that make up the outer ring of the enigmatic Neolithic monument were thought to have originated at Pembrokeshire’s Preseli Hills, but thanks to recent geological studies it has been revealed that the stones instead came from another site located approximately one mile away. "After this, I don’t expect to be getting Christmas cards from the archaeologists who have excavated at the wrong place all these years," said Richard Bevins of the National Museum of Wales. The discovery was made by using x-rays to compare the bluestones of Stonehenge with the rocks from both sites to find a positive match. The exact way in which the stones were originally move...

When Wales captain, Sam Warburton and a group of his teammates took to the field for a game of touch rugby against staff from Admiral, it’s fair to say they were confident of victory. However all was not what it seemed with Team Admiral, which included the Admiral herself. The boys were in for a surprise. The Admiral had been switched and was actually Wales women’s fly-half Elinor Snowsill. But thanks to a makeover and some staged fumbles and a diabolical penalty kick, Sam and the boys were none the wiser. That was until Elinor decided to show off her skills, to the disbelief of the Wales internationals! After drinking with the rugby girls in Cardiff, Charlet heads to Freshwater West beach for a traditional Welsh breakfast (and hangover cure.) Despite its proximity to England, Wales boasts a far more exciting national breakfast of cockles and seaweed, a.k.a. “Welshman’s caviar,” alongside bacon and eggs. Next, Charlet travels to Carmarthen to meet its famous coracle fishers, a small group of fishermen who go in search of a rare sea trout known as sewin—the “unicorn of Welsh rivers.” Click Here to Watch the First Episode of MUNCHIES Guide to Wales: http://bit.ly/1OBaRgm Subscribe to Munchies here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-MUNCHIES Check out http://munchies.tv for more!
