A traffic controller has been rushed to hospital after being crushed by a bobcat in Caversham on Wednesday morning.

The female, believed to be in her 50s, was rushed by St John Ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital with life-threatening injuries around 10am.

Nine News Perth reporter Jane Grljusich told Radio 6PR the woman suffered serious crush injuries when the bobcat reversed into her.

"A witness told me a fellow worker reversed the bobcat into her, they heard the driver crying out in shock," she said.

"He saw the lady lying under a tree on the side of the road with severe injuries to her leg."
