Nine News Perth reporter Jane Grljusich told Radio 6PR the woman suffered serious crush injuries when the bobcat reversed into her.
"A witness told me a fellow worker reversed the bobcat into her, they heard the driver crying out in shock," she said.
"He saw the lady lying under a tree on the side of the road with severe injuries to her leg."
A spokeswoman for Royal Perth Hospital at 1pm said the woman was in a critical condition.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Benara Road and Lord Street.
