Hello …

I’m a poet, theatre maker and broadcaster. Every year I write a new poetry stage show and schlep it around arts centres, theatres, pubs and festivals. Not, as some claim, because I’m “committed to taking poetry to the people” but because it pays my mortgage. And I love it.

I’ve written and starred in eight solo shows of my poetry. In 2015 I debuted my first play – What I Learned From Johnny Bevan at The Edinburgh Fringe. It won a Fringe First award for new writing, The Stage Award For Acting Excellence, and The Saboteur Award for Best Spoken Word Show. Johnny Bevan is touring again in the Autumn. Penned in the Margins published it as a book in February 2016.
