First Contact on SBS gets Australia talking

 Last night the SBS ONE broadcast of the first episode of dramatic three-part documentary series First Contact hosted by Ray Martin attracted a combined Metro and Regional audience of 612,000 (433,000 metro, 179,000 regional) reaching a peak audience of 774,000 and a metro FTA share of 10.3%.

Silvia Colloca, actress, opera singer and author of hit cookbook Silvia’s Cucina, will serve up an Italy rarely seen by tourists during a culinary celebrazione in Made In Italy with Silvia Colloca. In this sumptuous and picturesque new series Silvia takes a journey back to her homeland to introduce her family and present her love of healthy, hearty Italian fare.

The world’s greatest race, Tour de France on SBS

2014 has been a monumental year in sport and sports broadcasting for SBS, and now all eyes turn to France for the biggest race on the world’s cycling calendar - the 2014 edition of the Tour de France.

SBS will show every stage of the Tour de France live and exclusive, as well as twice daily highlights in the morning and evening, starting from Saturday 5 July.

RATINGS RELEASE: 2.28 MILLION TUNE IN TO SBS TO WATCH THE SOCCEROOS TAKE ON CHILE MAKING IT THE MOST WATCHED PROGRAM

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Live match between Australia and Chile had audiences up and ready to watch our Socceroos take on the Chilean team. Even though the match was a loss for the Aussies, conceding 1-3 to Chile, Australian audiences watched in their millions to see our boys in the Green and Gold. The Australia vs Chile match averaged 2,276 Million (1,741 Million Metro + 535,000 Regional), achieving 67.1% Metro FTA Share and 47.8% Regional FTA Share and a peak audience of 2,805 Million (Metro + Regional).

RATINGS RELEASE: SBS’S COVERAGE OF THE 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP REACHES 2.1 MILLION VIEWERS ON THE FIRST DAY

The 2014 FIFA World Cup kicked off yesterday with the host team, Brazil, taking on Croatia and winning 3-1. The live opening match on SBS ONE averaged 520,000 (428,000 Metro + 92,000 Regional), with a Metro FTA Share of 40.3%, a Regional FTA Share of 17.5% with a peak audience of 708,000 (Metro + Regional).
