Mini trend: how to wear citrus prints

If there is one print that screams, "HELLO SUMMER", it's citrus.

Lemons, oranges and a combination thereof have been popping up on shorts, tops and dresses in recent weeks.

The world last went full-on citrus crazy in 2010, when Stella McCartney sent a lemon-and-orange print shift down the runway that broke the internet.

Now, Stella has her citrus groove back, thanks to her debut range of swimwear, which is available in Australia through Bendon.

Who's doing it ... and how to work it

One of my favourite ways to wear this trend is in swimwear, as there's no danger of overdoing it.

For something a little more demure, the citrus print looks great on a shift dress or a jumpsuit, like blogger Lala Rudge.

Probably one of the only styling tips with this look is to watch the footwear – the print evokes long summer days, so opt for a rope or cork wedge, sandal or white runner.

Like all prints, keep all the other elements – accessories, make-up – relatively simple. The citrus print is no wallflower, so let it pop.

And if you're just not ready to go all the way with citrus, perhaps a cute clutch or a scarf will set you in the right direction, with minimal commitment.
