James Packer was hopelessly in love with Mariah Carey, even giving her his name ... just a month before an ill-fated yacht trip in Greece.

Packer sent emails to Mariah as late as last month, referring to her as MCP -- Mariah Carey Packer -- TMZ has confirmed.   

In another email a few weeks earlier, Packer wrote, "I'm in love with you and can't wait to get married and be together forever."  He continues, "There's a song I'm listening to now that's got lots of meanings and I hope it makes u smile.  When you get caught between the moon and New York City best that you can do is fall in love."

And there's more ... "All my love, laughter, light, respect and appreciation and admiration ... Thank you my fiancee and soulmate."  And the subject line reads, "Will U marry me soon MCP pls -:)))))."

And, just a week before getting on the boat on Sept. 14th, Mariah gave James a Cartier wedding band as a birthday present.

TMZ broke the story, Mariah believes everything changed when Packer's right hand guy, Tommy Davis, began questioning his spending and targeting the gifts Mariah got. She insists he was the central figure in ruining their relationship.

Former 'Voice' runner-up Juliet Simms was taken off an American Airlines flight and handed over to the FBI when she allegedly got into a physical fight with her husband.

Juliet and Andy Biersack were flying from Charlotte to LAX Sunday night when they started feuding in their first class seats. Witnesses tell us Juliet got louder and louder, and then hit Andy in the face. Flight attendants warned them to calm down, but 20 mins later they were at it again ... and had to be separated.

But we're told Juliet -- who nearly won season 2 of "The Voice" -- remained "out of control" and that's when an air marshal handcuffed her. That didn't help to calm her down either ... which is obvious in this video.

Once they landed, LAX cops detained her and handed her off to the FBI ... which had jurisdiction since the fight happened in the air. Law enforcement sources tell us she was questioned and released.

We spoke to Juliet and Andy ... and they're both chalking it up to her boozing too hard after not drinking for several months. He wasn't drinking. They say they're together, and everything's fine. They're cooperating with the FBI investigation.

One strange coincidence ... porn star Mary Carey was sitting in first class too at the time of the fight. Here's her color commentary.

Colton Haynes went to great lengths -- 2 weeks to be exact -- to pull off botched Miss Piggy.

The "Arrow" star went all out soliciting Bitemares makeup artist Erik Porn -- yup, his real name -- to apply the makeup during a 4-hour sitting. Colton and Erik worked together on "Teen Wolf" and Erik gave him the ultimate hookup.

The final product came together Saturday, but the grunt work started weeks before, when the head, chest and neck were molded. When it was all said and done they turned the sassy 'Muppet' into a plastic surgery nightmare.

The whole thing woulda cost the average Joe at least $5k, but Colton only had to pay for materials. 

Mark Salling will not be charged for rape because the woman who made the accusation waited way too long to report the incident.

The L.A. County District Attorney just rejected the case, citing insufficient evidence, lack of corroboration and a 4 year delay in reporting the alleged crime.

The woman told cops she was a 22-year-old virgin at the time, and told Mark, "I don't know if I can do this." She claimed he persisted, giving her booze and then engaged in intercourse, all the while she claims she was pleading for him to stop.  

The woman claimed Mark told her he needed "five more minutes" and never stopped. The woman also claims she eventually blacked out, only to awake and find Mark sleeping next to her.

The woman claims the next morning Mark wanted to have sex again and she says she consented.

She went on to make other allegations, but in the end it did not fly with prosecutors. The D.A. did say if more evidence surfaces they might reopen the case.

"Dancing with the Stars" front-runners Sharna Burgess and Indycar driver James Hinchcliffe got the highest score on last week's episode, but it might've been their swan song ... TMZ has learned. 

Our 'DWTS' sources tell us Sharna went down hard during last Monday's dress rehearsal, tumbling on an already banged up knee. She danced with a brace on, but now doctors want her off of the joint for 3-6 weeks. There are only 3 weeks left.

Sharna's definitely out Monday night and possibly the rest of the season.

Dance pro Jenna Johnson, eliminated in week 2, will be steppin' in for her -- but she and James will have to scramble to get on the same page for Monday's broadcast. 

Rob Kardashian's text messages that triggered a criminal threat investigation are strewn with disparaging references to gays, Mexicans and African-Americans.

TMZ broke the story ... LAPD's Threat Management Unit is on the case after Rob sent some ominous messages to Pilot Jones, the guy who sold pics showing him making out with Blac Chyna and insinuating he might be the father of her unborn baby. 

The pics set Rob off. We've obtained the text messages that Jones gave to LAPD. They include:

 -- "And u fa***t ass bitch this is ROB and u did the most DISRESPECTFUL s**t ever by releasing pics and a story to a pregnant Woman who is 17 days from having a baby!"

-- "This is my Wife and you about to get your ass beat by every Mexican in LA including me."

-- "U f***ed with the wrong Woman and the wrong dude."

-- "I hope you religious cuz after I beat your ass with about 30 Mexicans u better hope God lets u into heaven."

-- "Its a wrap for u and after we beat your ass we will all be good and never contact Chyna ... u pu**y ass n***a."

-- "Don't ever come for me and my wife ever U corny ass n***a" ... and that's followed by a bunch of black fist emojis.

The LAPD continues to investigate, although we're told law enforcement views the texts as a little "murky and general."

Our Rob sources say Pilot has incited Rob in the past and he sold the pics in part to get back at his significant other. They say his motivation in filing a police report is to drum up publicity for his music career.

Porsha Williams really is tied at the hip with her 'RHOA' co-stars ... 'cause she just bought a mansion 2 minutes away from NeNe Leakes. 

Porsha dropped $1.15 million on her new Georgia pad, and showed she's business savvy in the process -- since the asking price was $1.275 mil.

At 5,920 sq. feet ... the 5 bed, 7 bath spread comes with 5 fireplaces, a huge chef's kitchen, plus gorgeous millwork throughout. Like we said, she's now in the same gated community as NeNe -- just across the country club golf course.

Justin Bieber dodged a grilling from attorneys by settling the lawsuit a Miami photog filed against him for an alleged beatdown in a Subway restaurant ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the case tell us both sides reached the agreement at the 11th hour. As we told you, a judge had given JB until the end of October to get his butt to Miami for a deposition.

We're told the photog, Manuel Munoz, got paid an undisclosed amount -- the terms of the settlement are confidential. TMZ broke the story, Munoz claimed Justin ordered one of his bodyguards to attack him while he was snapping pics of Bieber in the Subway.

The alleged altercation went down in January 2014, the same night Justin got busted for DUI. 

Maria Sharapova, Miles Teller, Joanna Krupa and a bunch of other celebs went undercover Sunday for a big Halloween shindig.

They all descended on the Just Jared party in Silverlake, the hopelessly hipster area of L.A.

Mariah Carey was ordered out of the house she was sharing with billionaire James Packer, but she's staying put and demanding that he buy her an L.A. mansion as PART of a settlement in what has become a nasty breakup ... so say sources connected to Mariah. 

Our Mariah sources say she doesn't blame the breakup on James ... she blames it on famed, former Scientology bigwig Tommy Davis ... who worked closely with Tom Cruise until Davis broke from the org.

Mariah believes Davis has had an extreme influence on Packer, whom they say has not been himself since Davis got in his ear. Our Mariah sources believe Davis poisoned the relationship, complaining to Packer he was spending an exorbitant amount on lavish gifts for her.

Other sources tell us Packer brought Davis in partially to help curb wasteful spending, and he immediately ID'd gifts to Mariah as prime examples. BTW, Davis played a similar senior role as Chief of Staff for Tom Barrack's private equity firm, Colony Capital. This situation became a very contentious thing between Davis and Mariah's manager, Stella.

One source pointed out that Mariah has a multi-million dollar home in NY.

As we reported, Mariah said peace out after an alleged incident on a yacht in Greece between James and her assistant. Our sources say when she returned, she was ordered out of their Beverly Hills home, but she refused.

TMZ broke the story ... Mariah is demanding $50 mil from Packer, partly because she uprooted her family to be with him in L.A. and partly because the breakup left her so distraught she had to cancel a leg of her tour.

We're told part of Mariah's demand is that Packer buy her a home in L.A.  

Our sources say Packer is expected to respond to Mariah's demand Monday.
