Bombardier Inc. (French pronunciation: [bɔ̃baʁdje]) is a Canadian multinational aerospace and transportation company, founded by Joseph-Armand Bombardier as L'Auto-Neige Bombardier Limitée (loosely translated to "Bombardier Snow Car Limited") on January 29, 1942, at Valcourt in the Eastern Townships, Quebec. Starting as a maker of snow machines or snowmobiles, over the years it has been a large manufacturer of regional airliners, business jets, mass transportation equipment, recreational equipment and a provider of financial services. Bombardier is a Fortune Global 500 conglomerate company. Its headquarters are in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Bombardier Inc. Corporate Headquarters are at 800 René-Lévesque Boulevard West, Montréal, Québec, Canada H3B 1Y8.
Joseph-Armand Bombardier was a mechanic who dreamed of building a vehicle that could "float on snow". In 1937 he designed and produced his first snowmobile in his small repair shop in Valcourt, Quebec.
Bombardier's technological breakthrough in the design of bush vehicles came in the mid-1930s when he developed a drive system that revolutionized travel in snow and swampy conditions. In 1937 Bombardier sold 12 snowmobiles, named the B7 and, in 1942, created l'Auto-Neige Bombardier Limitée company.

Plot: Among those who are fighting to have Congress re-establish the military academy at West Point in the beginning of the nineteenth century is a young Washington socialite, Carolyn Bainbridge. Congress resolves to revive the Academy on a one-year trial basis. Major Sam Carter, a martinet who doesn't believe a college can produce real fighting men, is made the Commandant, and determines to make soldiers - or failures - out of the small band of cadets, by enforcing stringent disciplinary action. Among the cadets are Howard Shelton, Carolyn's fiancée, and Dawson, a Kentucky frontiersman. There is bad blood between the two from the start, and matters are worsened when Dawson falls in love with Carolyn. Many of the cadets resign, under the discouraging conditions and grueling punishment that is part of Carter's plan to make the school hard and the exercises difficult, and the number of cadets left is down to ten. Word arrives that the Indian chief Tecumseh has gone on the warpath, and Carter is ordered to take part in quelling the rebellion, and to include the cadets along with the regular Bombadiers. Shelton, on patrol, is shot at by an Indian, and hot-headedly leaves his post in pursuit. Dawson leaves to bring him back followed by Major Carter who is captured by the Indians. Using tactics learned at West Point, the small band of cadets attack and demoralize the much larger Indian force, and succeed in rescuing Carter, and Dawson is wounded. Carter is grateful for the actions taken by the band, but says that Shelton and Dawson cannot remain as cadets since they had violated the rules by leaving their posts, and would be a bad precedent for future cadets. Carolyn has come to the Point to marry the unsuspecting Dawson, who thought she loved Shelton.

Plot: The chapter-crunched version of this 196 minutes, 12-episode serial from Republic finds Canada being bombed mercilessly by a mysterious-enemy plane (shaped like a boomerang) called the Falcon, under the supervision of Admiral Yamata, Count Baroni and Marshal von Horst, chiefs of the Axis Fifth Column in Canada. No one can identify the plane until American inventor, Professor Marshall Brent, and his daughter Carol arrive with a new type of airplane detector. This poses a threat to the Axis chiefs in preparing western Canada for an invasion and they have him kidnapped by local Quisling Gil Harper. RCMP Sergeant Tom King attempts to rescue Brent, but the inventor is killed when a plane in which he is held captive crashes into a riverboat. Carol, determined to carry on her father's work and with King's aid, manages to prevent the enemy agents from capturing the detector, and destroys the device (many chapters later) when the agents make a last desperate attack on the cabin where it is hidden. She is captured and taken to the crater of a volcano, where the ring makes its headquarters.

"Bombardier" (July 1, 1916)
Hands raised
Volunteers
Fresh faced
Tender years
And when you're done, another one
will run that gun
She's your Verdun, she can't be won
Oh brother, keep that vow
'cause you can't hide now
Bombardier, bombardier, bombardier, bombardier
You tried to burn it out
Bombardier, bombardier, bombardier, bombardier,
You tried to blow it down
Bombardier, bombardier…bombardier,
It’s not in your hands
Midnight
Firefight
Town
Too real
Wound won’t
heal
And when you’re done, another one
Will run that gun
You're at the Somme, she can't be won
Oh mother, keep that crown
You can fly now
Bombardier, bombardier, bombardier, bombardier,
You tried to tear me down
Bombardier, bombardier, bombardier, bombardier,
You tried to wipe me out
Bombardier, bombardier…bombardier
It's out of your hands
And when you’re done, another one
Will run that gun
Dead and gone, to Avalon
Oh mother, keep that crown
You can fly now
Bombardier, bombardier, bombardier, bombardier,
You tried to run away
Bombardier, bombardier, bombardier, bombardier,
And now you’ll rue the day
“Vous ne les laisserez pas passer, mes camarades"
